Zalando launches the festival campaign with a style stunt at Electric Castle 2026

Zalando, the leading online platform in Europe in the fashion and lifestyle segment, officially enters the conversation about festival style this summer. Coming to meet the biggest dilemma of the season “What should I wear?” Zalando has launched a bold cross-channel campaign, conceived especially to silence wardrobe anxieties and to definitively eliminate all hesitations, every “what if” and “but maybe” related to festival style.

A social-first campaign that puts an end to all festival dilemmas

The new summer campaign is already active on social media channels and in outdoor, based on an extremely authentic Romanian cultural insight. Starting from the well-known expression “a căuta nod în papură” that local habit of over-analyzing and splitting hairs , Zalando has brought to life the concept “Festival Outfits without What Ifs and But Maybes.”

To personify these inner voices full of hesitation, the social media campaign brings to the forefront the well-known comedian Alex Bogdan and fashion creator Zarug, who masterfully embody the characters “What If” and “But Maybe.” Alongside a strong team of extremely popular fashion influencers including @thatramona, @augustinzainea, @andreirosca, @cosmingurau, @maracalli, @cesimaa, and @lizasabau , What If and But Maybe humorously lurk over the content creators’ shoulders to plant self-doubt in their wardrobe choices. All these doubts are, however, quickly and effortlessly dispelled by Zalando’s curated summer selections, created especially for festival looks without compromise.

Hyper-localized amplification in July

To increase the intensity of the message towards the key moments of the season, Zalando extends its visibility this month through a contextualized and hyper-localized Out-of-Home (OOH and DOOH) campaign in Bucharest and Cluj. Putting the spotlight on our inner monologues about clothes, the visuals will cover high-traffic areas and strategic transit points towards festivals, including the airport and the train station in Cluj. Passersby will be greeted by amusing and extremely timely slogans, inspired by local reality, such as “What if I travel second class, but maybe I want a first-class outfit?” and “What if the luggage is small, but maybe the expectations are big?”, reminding everyone that the perfect summer wardrobe is just one click away.

“‘What should I wear?’ is an apparently trivial question we ask ourselves every day, but its importance reaches its peak during those cultural moments that also function as true style statements such as the festival season. Relying on humor, we want to help festival-goers get rid of those ‘what ifs’ and ‘but maybes’. With the help of the Zalando festival selection, we give people the confidence to wear what they like and to let themselves be fully absorbed in the festival experience,” declares Małgorzata Sokolik, Head of Marketing CEE at Zalando.

The Zalando Zone: an interactive space, right inside the festival

As Super Sponsor of the Electric Castle 2026 festival (taking place between July 16 and 19), Zalando also brings the concept to life in physical format, directly on the festival grounds, through the Zalando Zone activation. An interactive space where participants can step in to have fun, join in the game, and win attractive prizes all while learning to leave behind any wardrobe doubt in order to celebrate the authentic expression of their own style.

Fashion takeover: the Electric Castle duck enters the Zalando universe

In addition to its media presence and festival activations, Zalando is also preparing a creative execution: the styling of the most photographed and talked-about symbol at Electric Castle the giant inflatable duck. In partnership with renowned fashion influencer Andrei Roșca, the activation will debut on Saturday, when the impeccable look the duck will be wearing at the festival will be revealed.

To build suspense, Andrei launches a digital challenge on Instagram and TikTok. The community is invited to explore the special “Festival Outfits” selection in the Zalando app, to guess the central piece of the look, and to leave a comment with a screenshot at the video on his profile in order to win prizes worth up to 1,500 lei.
