The organizers of Bucharest’s biggest festival, Neversea Kapital, have announced two legendary names completing the lineup for the first edition of the festival: John Summit, the house superstar from the United States, and the melodic techno genius, German artist Paul Kalkbrenner.
Recognized by Rolling Stone as “The Hottest Name in Dance Music” and described by Variety as “One of EDM’s Biggest Rising Stars”, John Summit is considered the new “must have” in the lineup of the world’s biggest festivals.
The track “Deep End” (2020) was the most streamed house single of that year on digital platforms and quickly propelled him into international charts. In 2025, John Summit’s tracks have over 1.5 billion streams on Spotify.
In the summer of 2024, John Summit reached a major milestone in his career: a sold-out concert at Madison Square Garden in New York. Tickets sold out in record time, and Summit described the show as “the most important moment in my artistic life so far.”
This year, during Super Bowl Weekend, at an event held in New Orleans, John Summit and Dom Dolla set an attendance record and had a special guest: Apple CEO, Tim Cook.
The American artist had sold-out shows in major clubs from Ibiza, Miami, and Las Vegas, performed on the main stages of top festivals like Coachella, Ultra, and Creamfields, and was invited to the sold-out shows by Anyma at The Sphere in Las Vegas. He mixed alongside Green Velvet in a now classic collaboration on the EDC and ARC Festival Chicagocircuit. He formed a unique duo with his friend Dom Dolla, “Everything Always”, and delivered legendary sets at Red Rocks.
In July 2024, he released his debut album, “Comfort in Chaos”, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic chart and has over 454 million streams. The album confirmed that Summit is not just a hit-maker but a complete artist.
Although a recent appearance on the international scene, John Summit is today one of the most influential artists in the electronic dance music industry.
Known as one of the most acclaimed live electronic music performers, Paul Kalkbrenner has redefined the techno sound. Originally from Berlin, Kalkbrenner made his mark in the 2000s through a style that rejects conventions: he doesn’t mix tracks, but performs them live using hardware and software gear, creating a unique experience every time.
The album Berlin Calling (2008) catapulted him from the underground scene to global fame. The track “Sky and Sand”, a collaboration with his brother Fritz, became an anthem in techno culture and remained in the charts for over 2 consecutive years. Kalkbrenner’s productions have over 1.18 billion streams on Spotify.
Paul Kalkbrenner has headlined the main stage of the world’s biggest festivals: UNTOLD, Tomorrowland, Sónar, Coachella. In 2014, he delivered a memorable show in front of hundreds of thousands of people at Brandenburg Gate to mark 25 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Conceived as a top-tier urban experience, the Neversea Kapital festival aims to transform National Arena in Bucharest into a hub of music, technology, and live entertainment.
This year’s lineup brings together some of the biggest names in mainstream and underground culture: Axwell, Lost Frequencies, Salvatore Ganacci, Alok, KSHMR, Don Diablo, Steve Aoki, Claptone, Charlotte De Witte, Nina Kraviz, Deborah de Luca, MAU P, Korolova, and many more.
Festival organizers will announce new names soon.
The first edition takes place between July 4th and 6th, 2025, and passes are available at www.neversea.com.
