Electric Castle was named, on Tuesday, in Manchester, “International Festival of the Year” at the 20th edition of the UK Festival Awards. The distinction confirms Electric Castle’s status as one of the most creative and innovative events in the live entertainment industry in Europe, with an excellent reputation in terms of production, artistic direction and sustainability.

Electric Castle won the title in the International Festival of the Year category, where some of the strongest festival brands in Europe were nominated: Afro Nation (Portugal), Beyond The Valley (Australia), Open’er Festival (Poland), Sziget Festival (Hungary), Way Out West (Sweden). The winners of the UK Festival Awards are determined mainly by a jury of industry professionals, the evaluation criteria covering all aspects of a festival: organisation, production, sustainability programmes, line-up and audience experience. The competition covers all types of festivals, from niche events to major festivals, and includes a single category dedicated to international festivals.

“It is an honour and deeply moving to receive recognition from professionals on one of the largest and most influential festival markets in the world. For them, the ability to create an original experience is more important than the size or budget of a festival. We thank the Electric Castle fans who encourage our desire to experiment and bring something new to every edition,” says Tudor Costinaș, Head of Communication.

Electric Castle is already preparing the 2026 edition, with The Cure and twenty one pilots announced as headliners for the event that will take place between July 16 and 19 in Bonțida. Starting yesterday, the festival is offering fans an instalment plan for purchasing passes, with a down payment of just 10 euros (plus fees) and a final price of 169 euros (plus fees) for the General Pass and 139 euros for the Youth 21 Pass, paid in three fixed instalments. The offer is available for a limited time.

Electric Castle is also nominated at the European Festival Awards, in the Best Major Festival category. The European events industry will announce its winners in January 2026.
