NIBIRU closes August with RETROGRADE Festival, a weekend dedicated to the hits of the 2000s.
There are only four days left until Timbaland takes the NIBIRU Arena stage for the first time, as part of RETROGRADE Festival. Between August 28 and 30, Costinești becomes for one weekend the meeting place of a generation that grew up with MTV, iconic music videos, and the hits that defined the music of the 2000s.
RETROGRADE brings to NIBIRU three days of nostalgia and energy, with an international line-up that reunites Timbaland, EVE, Fat Joe, Keri Hilson, and Busta Rhymes, alongside La Familia. These are artists and tracks that have remained in pop culture and which, more than 20 years after their release, are still recognized from the very first seconds.
RETROGRADE begins on August 28 with Timbaland and EVE
The first day of the festival brings EVE and Timbaland to the NIBIRU Arena stage, two names essential to the sound of the 2000s.
EVE comes with hits such as “Let Me Blow Ya Mind,” while Timbaland, one of the most influential producers of the generation, promises a show built around tracks such as “The Way I Are” and “Give It to Me.”
On Saturday, August 29, RETROGRADE continues with Fat Joe and Keri Hilson, and on Sunday, August 30, Busta Rhymes closes the festival.
For three days, RETROGRADE recreates the atmosphere of a period in which MTV, clubs, and personal playlists shared the same soundtrack. It is a festival built around the hits the audience still knows today, as well as the artists who contributed decisively to the sound of a generation.
Before RETROGRADE, NIBIRU celebrates Popcorn music
Before the start of RETROGRADE, NIBIRU dedicates two days to another musical phenomenon of the 2000s. On August 25 and 26, Popcorn Days takes place, a chapter dedicated to the period when Romania became a true exporter of dance hits.
INNA, Edward Maya, David Deejay, DJ Sava, Fly Project, Morris, Alex Mica, Deepside Deejays, Dony x Christian D x Emil Lassaria, and Adriana & MC Raul Riviere are part of the line-up.
On August 25, the program includes Morris, David Deejay, and Fly Project, and on August 26 Popcorn Days continues with the rest of the artists in the line-up. “Stereo Love,” “Sun Is Up,” and other hits of the period took the Romanian sound to playlists around the world, and Popcorn Days brings this period back to NIBIRU.

Steve Aoki arrives on the NIBIRU Arena stage on August 27, as part of Astral Night, for an energy-filled show packed with surprises, which will transform the night into an unforgettable experience.
The American artist will be joined on stage by Dirty Nano, Irina Rimes, PADO & BELU, and other DJs who will keep the atmosphere at maximum until morning.
After RETROGRADE, summer continues at NIBIRU
RETROGRADE does not mark the end of the NIBIRU season. The NIBIRU universe remains open until September 6, when the season will close with Christmas in September, a concept that brings the festive winter atmosphere to the seaside, right at the beginning of autumn.
The program includes concerts and special experiences, with Smiley on September 4, Carla’s Dreams on September 5, and Puya on September 6.
Until then, however, all eyes are on RETROGRADE. From August 28 to 30, NIBIRU Arena becomes the place where the hits of the 2000s come back to life, and Timbaland, EVE, Fat Joe, Keri Hilson, Busta Rhymes, and La Familia bring the soundtrack of a generation to the seaside.
