Primark has officially opened its first store in Sibiu, located in Shopping City Sibiu, following an investment of over 8 million euros.
The new store has a retail area of over 2,300 sqm, spread across a single level, and offers customers in the region the shopping experience for which Primark is internationally appreciated. With this opening, over 100 new jobs have been created locally.
Opened in the heart of the summer holiday season, the Primark Shopping City Sibiu store brings a varied range of products: the latest fashion collections, as well as everyday essentials for women, men, children, beauty, and home items, all at the accessible prices characteristic of Primark. Among these will also be the sustainable products that Primark offers in all the markets in which it operates, as part of the retailer’s commitment to offering durable and accessible fashion to everyone. Currently, 74% of Primark’s clothing items are made from recycled or more sustainably sourced materials, and the company’s objective is for this proportion to reach 100% by 2030.

The opening takes place just one month after Primark’s entry into the Craiova market, confirming the company’s accelerated pace of expansion in Romania this year. By the end of 2026, new stores are planned in Iași and Bacău, as well as a third store in Bucharest, at Sun Plaza, in financial year 2026–2027. Thus, the Primark network in Romania will reach nine stores, positioning the country as one of the company’s key markets in Central and Eastern Europe.

Currently, Primark operates six stores in Romania: two in Bucharest (AFI Cotroceni and ParkLake Shopping Centre) and one each in Iulius Mall Timișoara, VIVO! Cluj-Napoca, ElectroPutere Mall Craiova, and now Shopping City Sibiu.
