- The new location introduces an updated store design, a first in Romania
28 April 2026: Primark announces the opening of its first store in Craiova, which will take place on Tuesday, 9 June, marking the retailer’s fifth location in Romania and its expansion into Dolj County.
Located in the ElectroPutere Parc shopping centre, the new store will have a surface area of 3,185 square metres and will offer a varied range of products: the latest fashion collections, as well as everyday essentials in women’s, men’s, children’s clothing, beauty and homeware, all at the accessible prices characteristic of Primark.

The Craiova store will also introduce a new design concept, with large display windows, bright lightboxes and digital screens that will showcase the latest collections. The space will include 18 traditional checkouts, for a fast and efficient shopping experience.

Maciej Podwojski, ECE Director, Primark, stated: “The opening of the Craiova store represents an important new step for Primark in the Central and Eastern Europe region. It is a dynamic city, with a growing interest in new fashion trends, and we are delighted to bring our offer closer to the local community. This store reflects our long-term commitment to the Romanian market and we look forward to welcoming customers to the new location.”
“The opening of Primark at ElectroPutere Mall confirms our development direction and the attractiveness of the project for leading international brands. The recent expansion, carried out through an investment of 22 million euros, has allowed us to bring powerful retailers to the region for the first time and to consolidate ElectroPutere Parc as the main retail destination in south-western Romania. We are delighted to have Primark alongside us and to together offer a relevant experience for consumers in the region,” stated Bertrand Catteau, CEO of Catinvest.

Primark currently operates four stores in Romania, in Bucharest, Timișoara and Cluj-Napoca. With new openings planned in Iași, Sibiu and Bacău by the end of 2026, the retailer continues its national expansion, set to reach even more customers across the country.
