Bucharest, June 26, 2025 – Lenovo continues its partnership with the most important women’s clay tennis tournament in Romania, initiated last year, and announces that it will become the technology partner of the UniCredit Iași Open WTA 250, providing state-of-the-art Lenovo equipment powered by Windows 11 Pro and Microsoft solutions throughout the tournament. The 2025 edition in Iași will take place from July 14–20 at the Ciric Sports Base and will bring together top athletes from Romania and around the world, further solidifying the tournament’s position on the international competitive calendar.
“We are thrilled to expand the partnership we began last year and to associate with a sport that has tradition in Romania and has become increasingly popular among fans across the country.
The partnership between Lenovo and sports is no coincidence. It’s a natural meeting between two worlds driven by the same values: peak performance, resilience in the face of challenges, long-term vision, and the desire to constantly push forward.
We are one of the world’s leading technology companies, and through this partnership—which we aim to extend long-term—Lenovo once again demonstrates its global commitment to supporting excellence both in sports and technology,”
said Doru Ristea, General Manager, Lenovo Romania.
Lenovo will provide all-in-one devices and notebooks equipped with Windows 11 Pro, incorporating leading services and solutions developed through the global Lenovo–Microsoft partnership, including innovations that harness and leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI), such as Copilot.
Copilot is an AI companion that helps users be more productive and creative. Copilot in Windows offers smart assistance and automates workflows—helping users manage their calendars, draft emails, and much more—making it an essential tool for professionals seeking to boost productivity.
Furthermore, Windows 11 Pro is designed with security at its core, offering advanced features such as hardware isolation, encryption, and malware protection to safeguard sensitive data and ensure protection against cyber threats.
The technology and equipment provided by Lenovo and Microsoft are used by customers across industries and around the world, driving innovation and improving productivity. Lenovo technology will enhance the fan experience in the arena and facilitate broader access to this sport, showcasing the positive impact of smart new technologies.
“I am confident this can be a historic edition, especially as we already have 8 Romanian players confirmedon the main draw: Jaqueline Cristian, Sorana Cîrstea, Ana Bogdan, Irina Begu, Anca Todoni, Mihaela Buzărnescu, Miriam Bulgaru, and Patricia Țig.
Depending on the qualification results, the current edition of the UniCredit Iași Open could feature the highest number of Romanian players ever on the main draw of a WTA event.
Alongside them, other prominent names in global tennis will also be present.
With participants from at least 4 continents and 16 countries, the draw composition provides an encouraging outlook for the international promotion of Iași,”
said Andrei Oriță, CEO of Concord Service Center, the event’s organizer.
Lenovo is a company focused on innovation and supporting continuous performance. Just like in tennis—where every point requires intense focus, determination, and strategic thinking—innovation at Lenovo goes beyond speed or processing power. It’s about adaptability. Resilience. Performance.
Lenovo creates technology that powers performance—from ultra-rugged laptops tested in extreme conditions to devices that anticipate user needs and integrate AI for a seamless and personalized experience. Every product reflects a philosophy of continuous progress, much like the mindset of elite athletes: every training session matters, building success brick by brick.
This partnership highlights Lenovo’s expertise in developing technology that supports many of the world’s most iconic sports competitions. Lenovo has entered strategic alliances with some of the most advanced and technical global events, such as Formula 1 and MotoGP, where it supports the Ducati team, and with FIFA, making the company the Official Technology Partner of FIFA, including the FIFA World Cup 2026™ in Canada, Mexico, and the United States, as well as the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ in Brazil.
