Uber arrives on the Amalfi Coast with helicopters and boats—Just in time for summer

Key Highlights:

For the first time, tourists can use the Uber app to book helicopter flights and boat tours along Italy’s Amalfi Coast.
Uber Copter will debut in Sorrento, offering luxurious private helicopter transfers to and from Capri.
Uber Boat will cruise along the coast, offering tourists the chance to book a 4‑hour luxury cruise on the Amalfi Coast.
With Salerno Airport open and a record number of visitors expected, Uber will also launch Uber Reserve for scheduled rides throughout the region.

June 2025 – Over 5 million travelers are expected on the Amalfi Coast this summer, and Uber is rolling out its newest transport services to help visitors reach their destinations—on land, sea, or air.

Helicopter flights to Capri: Private round‑trip excursions from Sorrento for €1,500 per flight, accommodating up to 6 people (€250 per person), including transfers to and from the heliport.
Luxury boat cruises: Departing from Marina Sorrento, private 4‑hour cruises on an Italian Gozzo 35 yacht for groups up to 12, complete with skipper, snacks, and drinks.
Uber Reserve by land: Scheduled rides available this summer to avoid traffic and airport queues, following the launch of flights into Salerno Airport.

How to Reserve:

Uber Copter (Sorrento – Capri):

Available every Saturday and Sunday from July 26 to August 23.
9:00 AM departure from Sorrento, return at 5:00 PM from Capri.
Features twin‑engine helicopters with two pilots, for groups up to 6.
€1,500 per flight (€250 per person).
Booking via the Uber app: select “Uber Copter,” choose your date and departure/arrival point, and confirm booking. A confirmation email follows.

Uber Boat (Coastal Cruise):

Departures every Saturday and Sunday from July 26 to August 24, at 10:00 AM from Marina Sorrento.
For groups up to 12 people. Free to book.
Follow the same booking steps via the Uber app using “Uber Boat.”

Why Now?

The expansion responds to soaring demand in Italy’s tourist regions. Summer 2024 saw:

A 25% increase in international Uber use in hotspots like Rome, Lake Como, and the Amalfi Coast.
Over 400,000 international tourists used Uber in Italy.
60,000 users opened the Uber app on the Amalfi Coast in the past 12 months.
