The announcement of this innovative collaboration comes almost exactly 20 years after the launch of the first collaboration between Stella McCartney and H&M, in November 2005 the second designer collaboration in H&M’s history. To mark the occasion, Amelia Gray, Anitta, Emily Ratajkowski, and Yasmin Wijnaldum offered a first glimpse of the upcoming Stella McCartney x H&M collection at the Fashion Awards in London.
Set to launch in spring 2026, the collection will feature certified and responsibly sourced materials many of them recycled offering examples of sustainable alternatives to conventional fabrics and textiles. The concept celebrates Stella McCartney’s creative DNA, with iconic pieces, signature silhouettes, and defining elements inspired by various stages of her brand’s evolution.
This new collaboration marks a reconceptualization of H&M’s designer partnerships, expanding the dialogue beyond simply creating a collection and placing special emphasis on promoting sustainability through discussions, debates, and concrete actions.
A central element of the collaboration is the creation of a new Insights Board an initiative bringing together diverse voices and perspectives from across the fashion industry to create a space dedicated to curiosity and listening. The Insights Board aims to identify new ways for brands and the industry as a whole to influence and drive change, as well as raise awareness around animal welfare and innovative solutions. The goal of the collaboration, through both the collection and the Insights Board, is to generate meaningful dialogue, lasting design, and long-term impact. At the heart of the vision shared by Stella McCartney and H&M is the belief that sustainability must remain essential within the fashion industry, approached in a way that promotes transparency, conversation, and, most importantly, hope.
“I am thrilled to reunite with H&M 20 years after our first collaboration. Reimagining pieces from my archive brought me so much energy and joy. This second partnership is an opportunity to reflect on the progress we’ve made in sustainability, cruelty-free practices, and responsible design and to remain honest about the journey still ahead of us, together. I am happy that H&M is joining me in this direction; real change happens only when we act both from inside and outside the industry, and I have always believed in the power to transform the system from within.” Stella McCartney
“Stella is truly a visionary. From the beginning, she has revolutionized fashion through an aesthetic that proposes a nonconformist femininity. The collection includes essential pieces that reference this heritage. Stella McCartney’s moral compass and unwavering commitment to sustainable practices have inspired us at H&M for a long time, making it an honor to collaborate on such an ambitious project.” Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M
The Stella McCartney x H&M collection will be available in selected stores and online in spring 2026.
