Global Records marks a landmark moment for Romania on the international music scene through its direct involvement in a Grammy Award winning project at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

Keith Lawson, a songwriter signed to Honua Music, a company majority-owned by Global Records, won the Best R&B Album award for his contribution to the album “MUTT” by artist Leon Thomas. The distinction represents one of the most important recognitions in the global music industry and confirms the creative impact of the teams within the Global Records ecosystem.

In addition to this award, Keith Lawson was also involved in other major projects nominated at this year’s Grammy Awards. He contributed to Giveon’s album “Beloved”, nominated for Best R&B Album, as well as to “I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2)” by Teddy Swims, nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album. At the same time, the album “MUTT” also received a nomination in the Album of the Year category, one of the most competitive sections of the ceremony.

In recent years, Keith Lawson has established himself as a consistent presence in projects shaping the current direction of international R&B and pop. His recent achievements include contributions to “MUSIC” by Playboi Carti, the first rap album certified platinum in 2025, as well as the songs “Are You Even Real” (Teddy Swims & Giveon) and “Timeless”(The Weeknd & Playboi Carti), both surpassing one billion streams globally.

The acquisition of a majority stake in Honua Music, completed by Global Records in 2024, represented a strategic step in the company’s international expansion. The Los Angeles–based publisher brings together creative teams with strong experience in the global industry and an impressive portfolio of successful projects. Honua Music’s roster also includes songwriter Wyatt Sanders, co-writer of Jin’s “Don’t Say You Love Me”, which reached number one on the Spotify Global Top 50 in 2025, as well as songwriter Alida, known for billion-stream hits such as “Wet, Hot American Dream” (Ava Max) and “When I’m Gone” (Alesso & Katy Perry), certified RIAA Gold.

Through these achievements, Global Records consolidates its position as one of the most relevant independent labels in Central and Eastern Europe, with a growing influence at international level. The company currently works with more than 120 artists, songwriters, and producers, developing projects across pop, dance, electronic, and urban genres, with impact on global markets.

“This Grammy-level recognition confirms the direction in which we have been building Global Records for many years: consistent investment in talent, strong international partnerships, and the development of an ecosystem that allows creators to perform at the highest level. For us, it is a validation of a long-term strategy, not an isolated moment,” said Olga Juverdeanu, Managing Director of Global Records.

The year 2025 marked record results for Global Records, with over 600 songs released, more than 300 video productions created, and over 8 billion streams generated in a single year. The company’s total catalog surpassed 40 billion streams globally, confirming Global Records’ ability to build projects with international relevance and long-term impact.

Keith Lawson’s Grammy win, alongside Leon Thomas, represents an important validation of both individual creative value and Global Records’ vision to actively contribute to the creation of globally impactful music beyond the borders of Romania.
