Erika Isac launches “Cancel Culture”: An album, a short film, and a painful reality

Erika Isac is no longer just the voice behind “Femei” or “Macarena.” She embodies both the sinner and the saint, and the woman who calls things by their names, with all the risks that come with it. “Cancel Culture” is a sincere radiography of the world we live in, told by someone who has truly been there—in hate, burnout, desire, shame, tough decisions, and courage.

In addition to the 13 tracks, the project also includes a short film in 8 acts premiered at Cineplexx Băneasa, where Erika becomes the main character of her own sins, from greed and addiction to the dictates of “do’s and don’ts” for women in 2025. “Cancel Culture” THE MOVIE was created by a creative team consisting of Sânziana Pantazi, frnk., and Ana Maria Nistor (directors), with editing and cinematography by frnk., direction assistance coordination by Ana Maria Nistor and Tea Drăghicioiu, production by Carlo Mihail, production management by Matei Reu, and production design by Andrei Șova.

Spoiler alert: no matter how you look at it, you’re wrong.

“Cancel Culture” is not meant to be pretty. It’s made to make a statement. The “Cancel Culture” album features 13 tracks, including two bonus tracks. These were written by Erika Isac along with C.S.T. for “De deochi”, Quick, Keed, and Super ED for “Cățelele”, M.G.L. for “Lumea toată” and “Retur”, BRUJA for “Dale”, and MGK666 for “Cartier”. The production was handled by C.S.T. for “De deochi”, “Fk that”, “Cățelele”, “Retur”, “Lumea toată”, “Cartier”, Alexandru Turcu for “Colorat”, by Bogdan Gridan, Marius Sebastian Burtă (BROKN) for “Dale”, by MVRCU for “Politically correct”, by C.S.T. and GAV for “Party pe banii mei”, C.S.T. and DOMINO for “Bbb”, Costel Dominteanu (DOMINO) for “Trădare” and by George Ariton (SCUZE!) for “My choice”.

“‘Cancel Culture’ is about all the sins we all commit. About desires, about choices, about women’s right to decide for their own bodies. About abortion, sex, freedom, love, feminism. And maybe, for the first time, I spoke out loud. Listen to it and I’m sure you’ll understand me,” says Erika Isac.

Exceptional collaborations. The album includes the track “Lumea toată” in collaboration with M.G.L. – a true hit that quickly trended on YouTube, entered the Top 50 Spotify Romania and the Top 100 Shazam. With over 4.4 million views on YouTube, nearly 1 million streams on Spotify, and about 30,000 videos created on TikTok, the song has become a true trend. Moreover, the album brings strong collaborations with artists such as Satra B.E.N.Z., BRUJA, and MGK666—tracks that promise to enter your playlist and stay there. Erika Isac is one of the freshest appearances in the Romanian music industry. With nearly 10 years of experience, the artist has participated in multiple talent shows and is ready to prove that she deserves to be on the world’s biggest stages. In 2023, with her successful appearance at Urbanist Sessions, Erika began to make her mark on the urban music scene, particularly with the song “Tap Tap”, the first in a series of releases with a message dedicated to women. This was followed by “Femei”, which has already garnered over 4 million views, and “Tupeista”, which quickly trended on YouTube thanks to its provocative video and message.

In 2024, Erika generated millions of reactions with the singles “Macarena” and “Femei în Parlament”, singles that have become true social movements, addressing current issues from a feminist perspective and treating subjects with honesty and courage. Moreover, the song “VOILA”, released alongside M.G.L., reached #2 in the Top 50 most listened to songs in Romania on Spotify and trended on YouTube, with over 25 million views. 2025 promises to be full of surprises from the artist.
