DR AMALIA ANGHEL
A dermal nevus is a benign skin lesion, commonly known as a mole. In most cases it does not pose health risks, but it can be removed for aesthetic reasons or if it is frequently irritated.
The procedure begins with a dermatological consultation and examination of the lesion, sometimes using dermatoscopy. If the doctor confirms it is benign, it can be removed through surgical excision, laser or radiofrequency under local anesthesia.
The procedure is quick, usually lasting about 15–30 minutes, and recovery is generally easy. In some cases, the removed tissue is sent for histopathological analysis to confirm the diagnosis.
