Spotify officially announces a new ambassador within its global EQUAL program: Alina Eremia. The EQUAL initiative, launched in March 2021 with the aim of promoting gender equality and amplifying female voices in music, celebrates four years of activity and significant impact in the industry this year.
Over this period, more than 7,000 female artists have been included in dedicated EQUAL playlists, and over 1,000 ambassadors from around the world have benefited from support through editorial features, partnerships, and international campaigns.
The digital platform EQUAL Hub, dedicated to this project, is accessible in over 180 territories and offers listeners the opportunity to discover music created by female artists from all corners of the globe. In 2023 alone, EQUAL playlists contributed to more than 14.8 million first-time listens of new female artists and thousands of editorial playlist inclusions. Alina Eremia joins this global movement with the authenticity and emotion that define her.
Constantly present in music charts, Alina manages to reinvent herself with each song released, while maintaining her personal style and close connection with the public. Her music resonates strongly with a generation seeking honesty and emotion, and her lyrics speak about real feelings, vulnerability, and personal strength.
Included in the official playlist – EQUAL ROMANIA – will also be the artist’s latest release: “A fost mai simplu să pleci”(“It Was Easier to Leave”), a profound and sincere ballad that tells the story of an unfinished love, about those moments when leaving seems easier than fighting. A continuation of her hit “A fost o nebunie” (“It Was Madness”), which gathered over 75 million views on YouTube and was sung in unison by thousands of fans, the new song brings healing through music back into the spotlight.
