The designs reflect a spirit of freedom, creativity, and unity, aiming to bring together generations of fans ahead of the biggest World Cup ever held.

The bold collection captures the essence of each nation through unique combinations of colors and patterns that celebrate key elements of their identity from rich histories and iconic landscapes to traditional architecture and legendary kit designs from the past. Throughout the collection, subtle details reference the tournament’s rich heritage including nods to historic designs, memorable victories, and significant dates  revealing new layers of storytelling upon closer look and offering fans continuous moments of joy beyond the first impression.

The entire range is engineered for performance, designed to support world-class players under pressure while adapting to the diverse conditions across the three host nations. The collection also introduces a new visual interpretation of the adidas logo, featuring a lenticular heat-applied design that changes appearance with movement adding a bold and innovative visual detail.

Sam Handy, GM Football at adidas, said:
“The national team jersey is a symbol of unity and pride. As teams step onto the global stage at what will be the biggest World Cup ever, they carry the hopes of a new generation of fans while representing those who came before them. A World Cup is about creating moments that transcend the stadium, so we designed each kit as both a tribute to each nation’s roots and a celebration of the era where every fan, everywhere, is part of the story.”

Thomas Mace, VP Design, adidas Football, added:
“Designing our FIFA World Cup 2026 collection meant honoring each nation’s unique identity while pushing the boundaries of innovation and performance. Every jersey tells a story blending cultural heritage with modern aesthetics — and is built using our most advanced technologies to keep players comfortable on football’s biggest stage. From bold graphic details to the shape-shifting lenticular logo and state-of-the-art ventilation features, this collection represents the future of football design.”

Design highlights for selected nations:

Argentina
The traditional light blue and white vertical stripes take on a dynamic gradient effect in three tones, inspired by the jerseys worn during Argentina’s three World Cup victories 1978, 1986, and 2022. A custom inscription, “1896”, appears on the back of the collar, celebrating the founding year of the Argentine Football Association (AFA).

Germany
Paying tribute to Germany’s previous triumphs in the tournament, the design draws inspiration from some of the nation’s most iconic kits. The diamond pattern references the graphic seen on the 1990 and 2014 winning shirts, while the chevron detail nods to 1994 the last time the USA hosted the World Cup.

Italy
Italy’s classic blue jersey features a repeating laurel wreath pattern inspired by the crowns worn by athletes and emperors of the Roman Empire symbolizing victory and triumph deeply rooted in the nation’s history. Azzurri  the team’s nickname, meaning “the blues” is written in gold lettering on the back of the collar.

Japan
Japan’s traditional blue shirt comes to life through an abstract graphic with fine blue-grey lines, reflecting the country’s iconic violet-blue horizon where the sky meets the sea a symbol of Japan’s rich and unique landscape.

Mexico
Mexico’s green jersey is energized by a vibrant graphic inspired by the traditional Aztec calendar, echoing the country’s most iconic historical kits particularly the one worn during the 1998 tournament. Reimagined for the modern era, the design expresses a new spirit of confidence. The Aztechno font and the phrase SOMOS MEXICO (“We are Mexico”) on the upper collar incorporate the red, white, and green colors of the national flag.

Spain
Spain’s home kit for the FIFA World Cup 2026 features a clean finish with subtle yellow pinstripes on a red background, inspired by the national flag and crest. The word ESPAÑA is printed on the back of the collar, carrying the proud spirit of the nation onto the field.
