Herzogenaurach, March 5, 2026 – adidas today launches Hyperboost Edge, a new super lightweight running shoe set to mark the beginning of a new era in urban running. The shoe combines three innovative technologies: the new Hyperboost Pro midsole, the PRIMEWEAVE upper and the LIGHTTRAXION outsole, creating a perfect balance between comfort and response with every step.
Hyperboost Edge is the first adidas super running shoe designed without rigid elements. The new foam works naturally throughout the running cycle, delivering a dynamic and propulsive experience. The shoe weighs only 255 grams but offers a superior level of comfort and excellent energy return.
The central element of this new running experience is the Hyperboost Pro foam, a high performance material that delivers maximum cushioning without compromise. Inspired by the technologies used by adidas in elite competition models, the new foam formula ensures an optimized experience for any type of run, whether it is daily training or high mileage sessions. A 45 mm stack height in the heel area delivers a feeling of energy felt across the entire foot, while the foam becomes the element that defines both the wearing experience and the visual identity of the Hyperboost Edge model.
Hyperboost Pro foam was developed based on in depth material analysis and extensive laboratory testing conducted by adidas and complemented by research carried out together with the University of Cologne. In a study conducted with 60 runners, Hyperboost Edge outperformed the footwear previously used by participants across key performance and comfort indicators. 73 percent preferred the energy return, 77 percent perceived softer cushioning, more than half indicated superior overall comfort and the majority stated that the model offers a better running experience overall, confirming Hyperboost Pro as a new benchmark in running shoe technology.
The innovative technology of the new foam is complemented by the upper and the outsole, which together transform every run into a natural state of energy, allowing runners to experience comfort in a dynamic and energizing way. The PRIMEWEAVE upper, extremely soft and ultra lightweight, delivers effortless comfort and a secure fit. Integrated elements in the heel area provide targeted cushioning and additional stability, enhancing step in comfort. Premium soft materials and the well supported cushioned heel work together to support every run, a comfort that looks as good as it feels.
The new outsole is inspired by the DNA of adidas competition models. The LIGHTTRAXION material, lightweight and applied along the entire length, delivers high traction and grip from heel to toe. Built on a thinner and lighter base, the outsole brings the performance mindset of the Adizero range into everyday running, delivering stability and confidence with every step while maintaining durable grip in varied conditions.
Beyond performance, the shoe introduces a new aesthetic in adidas Running design. The bold silhouette of the midsole with its voluminous appearance is inspired by industrial forms and highlights the Hyperboost Pro technology. For the first time in adidas running footwear, the iconic three stripes are positioned on the high sole, intentionally emphasizing the performance engine of the shoe. The upper features a clean and progressive design with minimal details, hidden lace eyelets and lightly welded elements for a modern future oriented look.

Priced at 1000 lei and launched in a bold red colorway, Hyperboost Edge will be available starting March 17 in adidas stores and on adidas.ro. The first launch will be followed by new colorways starting May 1, as the future of running gains new visual expressions with the change of season.
