Acne Studios and Kappa redefine sportswear with unique collaboration

In a surprising attempt to rewrite the rules of athletic style, Acne Studios has joined forces with Kappa, the renowned Italian sportswear brand, for a collection that promises to redefine modern wardrobes. The SS25 season is marked by an unexpected collaboration, merging the heritages of the two brands into a limited edition capsule of 22 pieces, demonstrating that sportswear can transcend expectations.

Jonny Johansson, the creative director of the Stockholm-based brand, reveals how the music of Tricky, the British producer and musician who also stars in the official campaign, influenced the development of this collaboration. “I’ve always liked Kappa. Rebels wear Kappa, which appeals to me: it’s a brand of sportswear for cool kids. In a world where the boundaries between classic workwear, streetwear, ready-to-wear, and sportswear are increasingly blurred, the collaboration between Acne Studios and Kappa seems completely natural,” explains Johansson.

The collection is a refined mix of denim, athletic designs, and references to retro football kits. Highlights include flame-print T-shirts in Acne Studios’ iconic pink tone, tracksuit bottoms, and light-colored jeans with the Kappa logo on the leg cuffs. And as if that wasn’t enough, the Bowlina Bag is reinterpreted through the codes of both brands.

This significant collaboration not only brings a new perspective on dressing but also sets a new standard for sportswear, demonstrating that style and functionality can go hand in hand.
