Truman Capote’s legendary ball at the Plaza Hotel in November 1966 remains known as the party of the century. It was synonymous with fame, glamour, and, of course, style – with Capote’s “swans,” the socialite it-girls of New York, at the forefront. This unforgettable atmosphere continues to inspire, as seen in the latest Reserved STUDIO collection.
Reserved’s designers have focused on classic party pieces reinterpreted in an unconventional edition that can also be integrated into everyday wear, adding a touch of extravagance. The collection includes, among other things, a version of the classic slip dress, including one in 100% silk, sequin dresses in red and silver, and a top adorned with a rose detail. Feathers make an appearance too, such as on the neckline of a little black dress or the legs of a jumpsuit (detachable), along with fringes that create an incredible kaleidoscopic effect.
In contrast to the fitted dresses or off-shoulder tops, there is a classic black wool suit. For outerwear, there’s an oversized long-fur coat reminiscent of the 1960s, which is one of the season’s hottest pieces.
The collection is, of course, completed by accessories with themes of roses and feathers. Cubic zirconia jewelry – a brooch and earrings – as well as transparent gloves, a clutch, and satin stiletto shoes become the cherry on top of any outfit.
For men, timeless classics dominate: black-and-white shirts and elegant suits, including a vest option. There’s also a jacket in a burgundy shade – the color of the season. The collection is rounded out with warm sweaters, a single-lapel wool coat, and leather shoes.
