Two generations of artists from the Republic of Moldova have come together to make us feel and sing along with them. Satoshi and Irina Rimes collaborate for the first time and release the song “Bate, vântule,” a musical creation that addresses themes such as alienation, longing, origins, and the passage of time.
“Bate, vântule” is a synthesis of modern and traditional influences, blending Satoshi’s unique style with the unmistakable voice and sensitive lyrics of Irina Rimes. Their collaboration presents an emotional story that reflects the reality of many people who, in search of a better life, have left their native places. The lyrics perfectly capture this duality of feelings of longing and adaptation to the new, evoking powerful images of a past that still resonates in the present.
The music video for the song, shot in the Republic of Moldova, perfectly complements the atmosphere created by the music. The filming took place in the picturesque hills and dense forests of Moldova, in the localities of Gordinești and Văratec, capturing the essence of the Moldovan landscape and highlighting the natural beauty of this region. It was directed by Roman Burlaca and filmed by Nicu Lungu.
The song was written by Satoshi and Irina Rimes and produced by Ștefan Ioniță and Mario Morar.
“‘Bate, vântule’ is about the longing for home that you feel while being at home. About the feeling that makes you spontaneously buy plane tickets and dial the numbers you remember all your life,” Satoshi tells us.
“I have long dreamed of a song through which I could musically and lyrically embody the country I come from, but I never found the right context. I am glad that it is finally happening, here, now, and alongside Satoshi,” says Irina Rimes.
