RUDIMENTAL AND WHOMADEWHO BRING FESTIVAL ENERGY TO iMAPP BUCHAREST WINNERS LEAGUE 2026

Constitution Square becomes, for one weekend, the stage for one of Europe’s most spectacular multimedia events: iMapp Bucharest brings together international artists, electronic music shows, monumental visual installations, entertainment experiences and Romania’s most important video mapping competition in a mega-event that transforms the façade of the Palace of Parliament and the heart of Bucharest.

iMapp Bucharest 2026 Winners League completes the programme of its 11th edition with two international acts featured at major festivals: RUDIMENTAL (DJ + Production) on 19 September and WHOMADEWHO (Hybrid DJ Set) on 20 September. The two performances join the international video mapping competition, a special moment dedicated to gymnast Nadia Comăneci, and an entertainment programme that will transform Constitution Square, for two days, into a space dedicated to digital art, music and audiovisual experiences.

Organised by the Municipality of Bucharest, through ARCUB, as part of Bucharest Days, iMapp Bucharest reaches its 11th edition in 2026 under the theme PAST. FORWARD., inviting audiences to a weekend where past and future meet through image, music, technology and architecture.

RUDIMENTAL AND WHOMADEWHO | Two international music acts at iMapp

Over the two days, the festival atmosphere in Constitution Square will be complemented by live music, entertainment, and food & drinks areas. On Saturday, 19 September, iMapp Bucharest opens its gates at 16:00, with the programme running until 23:00. The day begins with music, food & drinks and entertainment, followed by RUDIMENTAL (DJ + Production), one of the leading international names on the electronic music scene. Later that evening, Winners League will bring the international video mapping competition to the audience, with seven works projected onto the facade of the Palace of Parliament. The evening will also feature a special moment dedicated to Nadia Comăneci.

With a sound that sits at the intersection of drum & bass, electronic, soul, pop and live instrumentation, RUDIMENTAL (DJ + Production) are one of the acts that helped bring drum & bass into the international spotlight. Originally from London, the group has transformed the energy of clubs and the underground scene into a distinctive sound that has reached major international stages and festivals. Tracks such as “Feel the Love,” “Waiting All Night,” “These Days” and “Not Giving In” have become global hits, while RUDIMENTAL’s shows are built around a combination of powerful beats, live energy and moments designed to connect with large audiences.

RUDIMENTAL’s DJ + Production performance at iMapp Bucharest 2026 adds a new dimension to Saturday’s programme, on a night where live music and digital art come together in the same space, and the facade of the Palace of Parliament becomes the stage for one of the world’s most spectacular international video mapping competitions.

On 20 September, iMapp Bucharest continues from 12:00 to 22:00, offering a daytime format that invites audiences to enjoy the festival atmosphere and spend time in the heart of Bucharest. Sunday’s music programme brings WHOMADEWHO (Hybrid DJ Set) to the stage in Constitution Square.

The Danish trio WHOMADEWHO (Hybrid DJ Set) are known for their strong stage presence and their distinctive blend of electronic, indie and dance music, combined with electronic production and live instrumentation. Throughout their career, the band has built an international following with a sound that works equally well in a club, at a festival or as part of a large-scale live show. Bridging the alternative scene and electronic culture, WHOMADEWHO (Hybrid DJ Set) bring a different musical dimension to iMapp Bucharest 2026, contrasting with the drum & bass energy of Saturday night.

Through RUDIMENTAL (DJ + Production) and WHOMADEWHO (Hybrid DJ Set), iMapp Bucharest 2026 expands the festival experience beyond digital art, offering two evenings with distinct musical identities: the energy of drum & bass and major festivals on Saturday, followed by the electronic and live universe of WHOMADEWHO (Hybrid DJ Set) on Sunday.

Winners League: An International Digital Art Competition

At the heart of iMapp Bucharest 2026 remains Winners League, the international competition bringing seven artists and studios to Bucharest, all winners of video mapping competitions organised by partner festivals in Hungary, Japan, Germany, France, China, the USA and Brazil.

More than a succession of projections, Winners League offers audiences a spectacular open-air artistic competition in which seven international works compete on the approximately 23,000-square-metre façade of the Palace of Parliament, one of the largest projection surfaces in the world.

The seven works offer different perspectives on time and memory, reinterpreting the monumental architecture through image, sound and technology. An international jury will award the Jury Prize, while the audience will be able to vote for their favourite work via SMS at the standard rate to 1755, selecting the winner of the Audience Prize.

In this way, the audience becomes part of the competition, while the iMapp experience is built around the encounter between spectacle, digital creativity and participation.

PAST. FORWARD. The Past as a Starting Point for the Future

The theme of the 2026 edition, PAST. FORWARD., explores the dialogue between past and future through memory, heritage, technology and imagination.

The seven competition works approach time and memory from different perspectives, transforming the Palace of Parliament into a space in constant change. The building’s monumental character becomes part of each story, reinterpreted through the language of digital art.

At the same time, the moment dedicated to Nadia Comăneci brings into the present the memory of an achievement that transcended the boundaries of sport and became an inspiration for generations. Fifty years after her perfect 10 at the Montreal Olympics, Nadia’s story connects with this year’s theme: a moment from the past that continues to look towards the future and inspire.
