The Women in Music Mentorship Program, the first mentorship initiative dedicated to all women in Romania’s music industry, is opening registrations for its 4th edition this fall. Interested participants can apply until August 11, 2024, at https://www.womeninmusic.ro/mentorship-program-4th-edition/.
For three consecutive editions, the Women in Music Mentorship Program has provided an exceptional platform for all 10 mentor-mentee pairs to gain a deep understanding of the music industry, ask critical questions, offer insightful answers, and build an inspirational community of female leaders in entertainment.
The 4th edition of the Women in Music Mentorship Program continues to address a frequent issue in the creative industries: the professional underrepresentation of women.
“Although women’s voices are increasingly heard on both national and international stages, they need to be heard backstage, in the entrepreneurial environment as well,” say the organizers of Women in Music. Four years ago, they felt this necessity, and since then, they have witnessed the significant impact a mentorship program can have on women starting their careers in the music industry. Participants from previous editions found answers to pressing questions, gained a clearer vision of the music industry, and for some, even secured their first actual job in the field.

What You Need to Know About the 4th Edition of the Women in Music Mentorship Program
Transformative Experiences “MEWEM was one of the most significant moments in my career. The program was my chance to prove that I could work in the music industry and the encouragement I needed to not give up. Here I met Ioana Chereji, my mentor, who continues to guide me both professionally and personally. After the program, Ioana offered me a position on the team of one of the world’s biggest festivals, UNTOLD, and my dream became a reality,” shares Alexandra Mihordea, mentee in the 3rd edition of the Women in Music Mentorship Program.
“The mentorship program confirmed in many ways that the music industry is where I want to grow. Through this project, I had the chance to meet industry professionals I had only dreamed of reaching, all open to sharing their knowledge, guiding us, and offering personalized advice. The fact that I am now part of the Women in Music team and contributing to creating these experiences for others is the greatest joy and another dream fulfilled,” says Andra Andriucă, a mentee in the 3rd edition and now a member of the Women in Music team.

Building a Community The Women in Music Mentorship Program addresses both the professional and personal aspects of participants’ lives. The cornerstone of a healthy professional environment is a community willing to offer support and promote a healthy work environment. The program aims to create a united community that shares common values and where members connect and support each other. #womensupportingwomen
Antonia Ioana Neagu, a former mentee and recent addition to the Women in Music team, adds:
“It was one of the experiences that grew me both professionally and personally. I feel that the community we managed to form over the seven months remains both a memory and the most beautiful ‘benefit’ I could have gained from the mentorship program.”
4th Edition of the Women in Music Mentorship Program Each edition of the program has brought challenges and sources of motivation to continue and improve, responding to the needs of the 10 participants. The 3rd edition spanned seven months, full of regular individual and group meetings, culminating in a “graduation project” in the form of organizing a concert for the artist Francis On My Mind. The 4th edition will introduce an exciting new project.
This edition will be more condensed, lasting three months, and will include individual sessions with the 10 mentors, providing support, information, and inspiration. Participants will also have group meetings, sessions with artists, workshops, and visits to various organizations in the music industry, such as Kiss FM, Global Records, and UNTOLD.
