Bucharest becomes once again the capital of new media art in Europe with the launch of the 6th edition, “Light Boarders”, of RADAR New Media Art Festival, held between October 3–5, 2025, at Casa Presei Libere, in the Marble Hall, which will be completely transformed through light, sound, and technology.
Supported by ING România, RADAR 2025 brings to the country for the first time interactive light installations, lasers, immersive projections, and holograms created by artists from 11 countries across 3 continents, previously showcased at major new media festivals in New York, Melbourne, Paris, Madrid, Berlin, and Rome.

Among the invited artists are renowned names such as Guillaume Marmin and Collectiff Scale from France, known for their kinetic and synesthetic installations, and Andy Thomas from Australia, whose digital compositions turn bird sounds into vibrant visual sculptures. The public will discover works by the Italian studio Fuse with the installation “Onirica”, where dreams are translated into AI-generated imagery, and the duo Mots from Romania/Germany returning this edition with a new installation, “The Pledge”, a fresh social experiment on algorithmic bias.

Included among the participants are artists from Slovakia, Germany, and international studios from Spain, Poland, and Taiwan further solidifying RADAR’s position as a global dialogue space and regional platform for transdisciplinary creativity.
“After participating in all five RADAR editions whether as an exhibiting artist, co-curator, or architect this 2025 edition marks an important milestone in the festival’s evolution. What began as a bold local initiative has transformed into a truly international platform, securing its place among the notable new media art festivals in Europe,” says Alina Rizescu (co-founder RIZI), exhibition design architect of RADAR 2025 and one of the selected artists for the festival’s sixth edition.

One of the most anticipated segments is RADAR Kids, the program for children and families, hosted in the Scânteia+space at Casa Presei Libere, with support from Lidl România. Children will explore interactive installations, light and sound experiments, and creative workshops designed to stimulate imagination and develop curiosity through educational interaction. Some installations in this space are created by the prestigious Taiwanese studio Peppercorns, Muse Design Award laureates.
“RADAR is an ever-expanding festival that has grown with each edition in terms of participants, artist lineup, and cultural partnerships elements that transform RADAR into an international hub of digital art, a meeting point for new forms of expression, interdisciplinary creativity, and audiences eager for immersive experiences. We are delighted to build year after year an open and accessible platform where art, technology, and interaction become a shared language across generations, cultures, and possible futures” the organizers stated.
