Only a few days separate us from Rockstadt Extreme Fest 2026. Ghimbav becomes the new home of one of the most ambitious metal festivals in Europe.

Between July 27 and 31, Ghimbav becomes the meeting point for the rock and metal community from around the world. Rockstadt Extreme Fest opens a new chapter in its history, in a location that makes possible the most spectacular edition organized to date.

The move to Ghimbav was not made to accommodate more people, but to offer a better festival. More space for productions, for the audience, and for the comfort of participants, while maintaining the identity that has established Rockstadt Extreme Fest: a festival built around community and experience.

After 12 editions, the festival continues to grow, but does not aim to become the biggest. On the contrary. The organizers have decided to limit sales to approximately 20,000 passes, even though the interest would allow for a larger capacity. The objective remains the same: for the audience to enjoy the same spectacular productions and the same artists they see at the biggest festivals in Europe, but in a much more comfortable, accessible, and relaxed setting.

At this point, approximately 1,000 passes remain available, with the festival rapidly approaching a sell-out.

The most impressive production in Rockstadt’s history

The new location makes possible the largest logistical deployment in the festival’s history. 43 trucks loaded with production equipment and over 50 tour coaches (nightliners) transporting the artists and technical crews arrive in Ghimbav. It is the most extensive logistical operation ever organized for Rockstadt Extreme Fest and one of the largest encountered at a metal festival in Romania.

For the audience, all these figures mean one thing: complete shows, presented exactly in the form in which they were conceived for the most important festivals in Europe.

Monumental sets, spectacular installations, complex special effects, tanks, a giant bear, stage elements built specifically for each artist, and even artificial snow in the middle of summer will transform every concert into a memorable experience.

The new infrastructure allows all these productions to arrive in Romania without technical or staging compromises, offering the same visual and production experience that audiences encounter at the great European festivals.

The same shows as on Europe’s biggest stages, without the crowds of the big festivals

This is one of the most important things that differentiates Rockstadt Extreme Fest.

The Prodigy, Sabaton, Marilyn Manson, Lamb of God, Godsmack, In Flames, and Arch Enemy are artists who constantly perform at festivals with 70,000, 80,000, or even over 100,000 spectators per day.

In Ghimbav, the audience sees exactly the same productions and the same complete shows, but in a festival limited to approximately 20,000 participants.

The result is a completely different experience: less crowding, quick access between stages and festival areas, reduced waiting times, excellent visibility, and the possibility of being much closer to the artists and the show.

Rockstadt does not pursue capacity records. It aims to be one of the best places in Europe to experience a rock and metal festival.

Ghimbav, a new destination for major European festivals

Located just a few minutes from Brașov and served by the Brașov-Ghimbav International Airport, the city offers one of the most accessible locations for a festival of this scale in Romania.

Its positioning, modern infrastructure, and proximity to one of the country’s most important tourist destinations transform Rockstadt Extreme Fest into an experience that goes beyond the concerts themselves.

For thousands of participants coming from Romania and abroad, the festival also becomes an opportunity to discover Brașov, Râșnov Citadel, Bran Castle, and the entire region.

The move to Ghimbav marks the beginning of a new stage for the festival and contributes to positioning the city on the map of major European musical events.

Easy access from all over Romania and Europe

The new location is one of the most easily accessible in the festival’s history.

Participants can reach Rockstadt Extreme Fest:

  • by train, to Ghimbav Train Station, located a few minutes’ walk from the festival
  • by metropolitan buses between Brașov and Ghimbav, whose schedule will be supplemented during the festival
  • by car, via the A3 motorway and DN1, using dedicated parking areas
  • by Bolt, Uber, or taxi
  • through FlixBus services and rail connections from the main cities in Romania

For international participants, Brașov-Ghimbav International Airport offers the fastest access option, complemented by connections through the airports in Bucharest and Sibiu.

For the fastest possible access to the festival, the organizers recommend that participants collect their wristbands before the gates open. Between July 23–26, General Access pass holders can convert their tickets into wristbands and top up their credit for payments in advance, thus avoiding queues on the first day of the festival.

The service is available at the following locations:

Brașov

  • AFI Brașov (2:00 PM – 8:00 PM)
  • Banca Transilvania, Coresi Shopping Resort (2:00 PM – 6:30 PM)
  • Magnolia Mall, 1st floor, next to AMICAL Bar (2:00 PM – 8:00 PM)

Bucharest

  • Banca Transilvania, Promenada Mall (2:00 PM – 6:30 PM)
  • Banca Transilvania, Mega Mall (2:00 PM – 6:30 PM)
  • Quantic Club (2:00 PM – 8:00 PM)

At all these points, participants can collect their wristband and top it up on the spot with a bank card, so they can go straight into the festival atmosphere. For those who prefer to do this later, top-up points will be available throughout the entire duration of the festival. Day ticket holders will be able to collect their wristbands directly at the festival entrance, on the days of the event.

The festival continues beyond the stages

Rockstadt Extreme Fest aims to transform the five days into a complete experience.

The festival wristband offers special discounts and benefits at hotels, restaurants, spas, shops, and tourist attractions in Ghimbav and Brașov. Participants benefit from special offers at accommodation units, restaurants, AFI Brașov, Aquafit Spa, Trickshot, museums, outdoor experiences, and local tours.

The festival thus also becomes an engine of promotion for the entire region, inviting the audience to spend more days in the area and discover one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in Romania.

The last 1,000 passes available

Rockstadt Extreme Fest 2026 is approaching a sell-out.

The organizers announce that approximately 1,000 passes remain available, and sales will stop at approximately 20,000 passes, the limit set for this year’s edition.

The decision has been part of the festival’s DNA since its very first editions: to put the participants’ experience ahead of audience records and to offer access to some of the most impressive rock and metal productions in the world in a comfortable, friendly, and artist-close setting.
