A unified AI ecosystem, the result of collaboration between Lenovo and Motorola
Motorola and Lenovo announced Motorola Qira, a unified AI platform designed to deliver an intelligent, coherent and continuous experience across multiple devices, for example smartphone and laptop. Built on the expertise of moto ai and Lenovo AI Now, Motorola Qira addresses the challenges users face when interacting with multiple applications, tools and AI ecosystems.
The platform brings together under a single name and a single interface Lenovo and Motorola AI solutions, including moto ai, Lenovo AI Now, Creator Zone and Learning Zone. Based on a shared knowledge foundation, Motorola Qira preserves context across devices, allowing users to create, capture and interact without interruptions, regardless of location.
Motorola Qira integrates partnerships with industry leaders such as Microsoft 365 and Copilot, Qualcomm and Intel, Perplexity and Google, delivering trusted AI experiences, including on-device. The platform synchronizes across devices to anticipate user needs, maintain context and reduce friction, with additional functionalities planned for the second half of this year.
Project Maxwell: proof of concept for a perceptive AI companion
Motorola presented Project Maxwell, a proof of concept for an AI Perceptive Companion, developed by the Motorola 312 Labs team. Designed to explore new ways in which artificial intelligence can integrate naturally into everyday life, Project Maxwell demonstrates a hands-free, context-aware wearable companion, integrated into the Motorola Qira ecosystem.
On request, the AI companion processes data from the surrounding environment, sees, hears and understands context, providing real-time information and personalized recommendations. For example, users can ask the device to listen to a keynote during a conference and generate a summary or a social media post, without directly interacting with a smartphone.
The concept is based on two key capabilities:
• Multimodal Perception Fusion, which combines audio and visual data to deliver contextual information in real time.
• Natural Language Interaction and Intention Capture, supported by Large Action Models capable not only of responding, but also of executing user-initiated actions.
Although Project Maxwell is currently a proof of concept, the insights gained will contribute to future Motorola AI developments, extending the boundaries of human–technology interaction.
