Maria Grazia Chiuri bids farewell to Dior after nearly a decade of visionary leadership

Paris, May 2025 – Maria Grazia Chiuri, the trailblazing Italian designer and the first woman to ever hold the role of Creative Director at Dior, has officially announced her departure from the historic French fashion house. Her exit marks the end of a groundbreaking chapter defined by bold feminist messaging, cultural relevance, and remarkable commercial success.

Chiuri presented her final collection for Dior during the Cruise 2026 show in Rome, a poetic tribute staged among ancient ruins and artistic references. The show served as a heartfelt farewell, encapsulating her signature blend of personal storytelling and empowered femininity.

Since joining Dior in 2016, Chiuri reimagined the Dior silhouette—bringing softness, functionality, and inclusivity to the forefront. She reshaped the conversation around fashion by integrating social commentary, starting with her iconic “We Should All Be Feminists” T-shirts, and continued through impactful collaborations with artists such as Judy Chicago and Eva Jospin.

Under Chiuri’s leadership, Dior strengthened its global influence in Haute Couture and saw its sales multiply fourfold. Her creative direction positioned the brand at the intersection of fashion, art, and activism.

“Maria Grazia Chiuri has done extraordinary work since joining Dior,” said Delphine Arnault, CEO of Christian Dior Couture. “Her visionary collections, rooted in feminist values and artistic innovation, have honored the legacy of Monsieur Dior while propelling the Maison into a new era. We are deeply grateful for her immense contributions and the powerful legacy she leaves behind.”

As Dior enters a new phase, the industry awaits the announcement of Chiuri’s successor and the next chapter in the evolution of one of fashion’s most iconic houses.
