She is exactly the type of woman the Reserved designers had in mind when creating the brand’s latest collection. The face promoting Reserved’s new offerings, Maja Weyhe (@majawyh), one of the most popular fashion it-girls, fits seamlessly into this setting.
Maja has been a fixture in the fashion world for a long time, back when blogs, not Instagram, were the go-to sources for style inspiration. That’s where she posted her first outfits captured with a self-timer. She has become a constant presence at the most significant fashion weeks and the subject of articles in many top fashion publications, developing a personal aesthetic that’s a mix of casualness and sophistication.
When asked what style means to her, she confessed it’s the sum of everything that influences us in our daily lives. It seems her attitude is working, as she has amassed 400,000 followers on Instagram, the platform she chooses to share her creations as a designer, photographer, and model.
For Reserved, she presents a collection that subtly introduces the new season. “This collection is for the woman who enjoys every day and dresses for herself,” Maja says. Although born in Germany, where she spends most of her time, the photo shoot took place in a location she loves – Florence, Italy. Known as the cradle of the Renaissance, the city’s architecture provides a backdrop of subtle contrasts for Maja’s photographs.
The new Reserved collection is dominated by an abundance of textures and cuts, evident in Maja’s images. Matte contrasts with shiny, fitted silhouettes blend with oversized cuts. Deliberately, dense materials are found in smaller pieces, such as a mini bouclé skirt paired with a voluminous bomber jacket in structured shiny material, or cargo pants combined with a knitted sweater.
The collection is dominated by monochrome pieces in a discreet color palette, ranging from white to navy blue. Attention is drawn to silver glitter, a persistent trend that is enhanced with embossed animal print, visible on a polyurethane skirt and other items and accessories.
Both clothing and accessories are designed to be suitable for day and evening wear. This is why silver predominates over gold, to emphasize a relaxed yet spectacular style.
