June 5, 2025 – Lenovo has launched ThinkShield Solutions, a security offering designed to protect small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), schools, and other organizations with limited IT resources that face significant security risks. The new offering is part of Lenovo’s ThinkShield portfolio of enterprise-level cybersecurity solutions.
Cybercriminals increasingly target SMBs, schools, and smaller organizations, as these typically have less robust security compared to large companies and institutions.
The majority of reported cyberattacks are directed at SMBs, with the average cost per incident estimated at around USD 255,000¹. Educational institutions are also targeted due to the personal data they store on young individuals. It is estimated that ransomware attacks on educational institutions, which have compromised over 6.7 million personal records worldwide, have resulted in system downtime costs exceeding USD 53 billion between 2018 and mid-September 2023².
