In a historic move for the fashion industry, Dior has announced the appointment of Jonathan Anderson as the sole creative director for all its lines: womenswear, menswear, and haute couture. This marks the first time since Christian Dior himself that a single designer holds complete creative control over the House.
At 40 years old, the Northern Irish designer is renowned for his innovative approach and for revitalizing Loewe, where he transformed a traditional fashion house into a benchmark of contemporary creativity. Under his leadership, Loewe experienced significant growth, becoming a major force in the global fashion landscape.
His appointment at Dior comes during a period of transition, following the departure of Maria Grazia Chiuri, who led the women’s and couture lines for nearly a decade. Anderson was previously named artistic director of Dior’s menswear collections in April 2025, and now expands his responsibilities to include all lines of the House.
Delphine Arnault, CEO of Dior, stated: “Jonathan Anderson is one of the most talented designers of his generation. His extensive experience and creative vision will bring a fresh energy to the House of Dior.”
Anderson will unveil his first collection for Dior Men on June 27, 2025, followed by the debut of his womenswear collection during Paris Fashion Week in October. This appointment marks a new era for Dior—one that promises to blend tradition with innovation under the leadership of a designer with a unified and modern vision.
