On May 28, the designer proposes a new creative direction an exploration of identity, beyond forms, gender and time

Less than a year after the launch of the AKASHA collection, Irina Voinea returns on May 28 with ORIGIN, the most extensive and complex collection of her career to date. The designer’s fourth collection marks not only an aesthetic evolution, but a new level of conceptual depth and technical execution.

With a total of approximately 22 outfits, ORIGIN expands the universe created by Irina Voinea, preserving the brand’s DNA, but taking it into a more mature and experimental territory. A defining element of this collection is the assumed direction towards the feminine: for the first time, almost half of the collection is dedicated to women, with 10 outfits created especially to explore the complexity and expressiveness of the female body.

This evolution comes after more than 12 years in which the designer has built and refined a strong identity in the menswear space, becoming a benchmark for contemporary masculine fashion creation in Romania.

“For a long time, man was my muse. I felt that when I would create for women, it had to be in a way that truly honors them. And that moment has come now. It is a much more complex, more nuanced area, but also an extremely fascinating one for me,” explains Irina Voinea.

Over time, Irina Voinea’s creations have been worn by well-known artists and personalities, in custom projects, including Smiley, Pavel Bartoș, Andi Moisescu, Irina Rimes, Feli or the band The Rose collaborations that have consolidated the brand’s positioning in the area of contemporary and expressive design.

Following AKASHA, a collection inspired by the idea of a “divine library” in which information about our souls is recorded, ORIGIN goes further, exploring the concept of origin not only at a personal level, but on a cosmic scale.

“If AKASHA was about this universal memory of the soul, ORIGIN is about what comes beyond it. About our original matrix, about the place we truly come from. It is a journey through the multiverse, through different worlds and planets, but which, in the end, returns to us,” says the designer.

From a technical standpoint, ORIGIN marks a visible leap. The collection introduces sophisticated materials and technologies from silk and silk organza, to multiple types of cotton, digitally printed jerseys and denim, as well as elements created through innovative technologies, such as 3D printing directly onto fabric. The pieces are complemented by special embroideries and stitching, created in collaboration with international suppliers, in a creative process that combines global know-how with personal artistic vision.

“It is, without a doubt, the most complex collection I have made so far. I explored new patterns, new materials and new forms. It is another level from every point of view,” adds Irina Voinea.

ORIGIN is not just a fashion collection, but a conceptual experience that proposes a reflection on identity and personal expression. An invitation to reconnect with the essence, beyond roles, conventions and expectations.

The May 28 launch marks a new chapter for Irina Voinea, at a moment when the brand expands its creative language and opens a new direction one in which the masculine and the feminine coexist and complement each other in an organic way.
