Global Records strengthened its international expansion in the spring of 2024 by acquiring the majority stake in the independent publishing house Honua Music. With billions of streams, collaborations with top artists, and numerous gold and platinum certifications, this partnership is shaping up to be an influential force in the global music industry a fact already reflected in the remarkable successes of recent months.
Honua Music stands out through exceptional talents such as Keith Lawson, who contributed to the writing of Playboi Carti’s album “MUSIC”, the first rap album to be certified platinum in 2025, as well as to hits like “Are You Even Real”(Teddy Swims & Giveon) and “Timeless” (The Weeknd & Playboi Carti), each surpassing one billion streams. Also this year, Jin’s track “Don’t Say You Love Me”, composed by Nathan Fertig and Wyatt Sanders, reached #1 on the Spotify Global Top 50 chart. Wyatt Sanders, a key member of the team, has also collaborated with artists such as Diplo, Trippie Redd, iann dior, and 88GLAM.

To support this expansion, Honua Music appointed Waka Tshimanga as Senior Vice President and Head of Creative. With experience in A&R and collaborations alongside London on Da Track, Drake, Ariana Grande, and Summer Walker, Tshimanga will lead the company’s creative direction.
