From 2 June to 12 July, Romania’s capital joins the global Mercedes-Benz Studios initiative, a brand experience format that brings together product presentations, design, innovation, culture and direct interaction with the public. Hosted by MARe/Museum of Art (Bd. Primăverii 15), on levels 0 and 3, Mercedes-Benz Studio Bucharest proposes an experience created especially for the Romanian public, in the context of the “140 years of innovation” anniversary.
The concept will include an exhibition dedicated to the evolution of Mercedes-Benz, from the first automobile patented by Carl Benz to the brand’s latest models and technologies.
Under the motto “Welcome Home”, the space will bring together workshops, creative ateliers, private events, public activations, activities for parents and children, presentations and test drives of new models, and interaction sessions with Mercedes-Benz consultants.
The programme will be built around three major thematic directions Design, Innovation and Performance which reflect the key values of Mercedes-Benz and the way in which these define the mobility of the present and the future.
To participate in the events open to the public, visitors will be able to register on the dedicated website, where they will obtain a digital access passport. This will allow participation in the programme’s activities and, at the same time, will provide access to the two large-scale exhibitions organised by MARe/Museum of Art: the photographic exploration of light and space at CONSTANTIN BRÂNCUȘI (level -1) and the tension between control and abandon in the painting of BERNARD FRIZE (levels 1 & 2).
Until the opening, those who wish to stay informed about the agenda of events taking place over the course of the six weeks can already subscribe to the Studio newsletter, where the latest information about the programme, updates and the calendar of public activities will be communicated.
Mercedes-Benz Studios: a global initiative inspired by 140 years of innovation
The idea of Mercedes-Benz “Studios” at a global level was born on the occasion of the 140-year anniversary of innovation associated with the invention of the first automobile. In 1886, Carl Benz filed the patent application for his automobile, and shortly thereafter Gottlieb Daimler built his motorised carriage. Together, these two vehicles marked the beginning of a chain of innovations that influenced the development of the automobile and contributed to the progress of modern society.
Over the past 140 years, the automobile has become not only a revolutionary means of transport, but also an expression of technical excellence, creativity and personal freedom. It has been, at the same time, a path towards top sporting performances and part of remarkable human stories, such as the journey of Bertha Benz, the first female driver in history.
In this context, Mercedes-Benz launched the global initiative “Mercedes-Benz Studios”, with the objective of consolidating the brand’s presence in urban centres at an international level. Mercedes-Benz aims to develop such brand spaces in more than 10 cities, across four continents, throughout 2026.
Located in dynamic urban areas, Mercedes-Benz Studios are conceived as spaces where visitors can discover the brand in a relaxed, interactive manner close to the rhythm of the city. Products, exclusive events and cultural moments naturally connect the brand experience with the retail area, from the first contact with Mercedes-Benz to personalised interactions with the brand’s specialists.
Mercedes-Benz Studio Bucharest: “Welcome Home”
The motto of the Mercedes-Benz Studio concept is “Welcome Home”, expressing the unique feeling offered by each model of the Stuttgart brand. In Romania, this promise takes shape in an inspirational space, where the history of Mercedes-Benz meets contemporary design, innovation, culture and urban lifestyle.
As in the other Mercedes-Benz Studios around the world, the emphasis is placed on openness, interaction and experiences created for the public. Mercedes-Benz Studio Bucharest brings the brand’s heritage back into focus in a modern and accessible way, inviting visitors to explore the story of 140 years of Mercedes-Benz innovation through a programme adapted to the local public.
In addition to the exhibition dedicated to 140 years of innovation, the programme will include presentations of new models and events to be announced subsequently. Through this format, Mercedes-Benz Studio Bucharest becomes a meeting point between the brand’s heritage and the mobility of the future, within an urban, cultural and publicly accessible setting.
