Andrei Ursu launches “Doi eroi”, a song that comes to strengthen the musical space in which the artist finds himself and which he is exploring with increasing clarity. The new single finds him in an artistic space that feels close to him, one that places at its centre a natural connection with Romanian music, filtered through his sensitivity and his journey as it stands today.

“Doi eroi” maintains this direction and brings to the forefront a sound inspired by old drinking songs, passed however through a contemporary formula. It is the kind of song that does not force contrast and does not seek rupture, but comes naturally from a space that Andrei Ursu feels, understands and makes his own. It is precisely from here that both the coherence of the song and the way it settles into his musical story are born.

The single is the first song from a larger body of work, in which the artist explores sounds such as the waltz, the tango and the romance. Within the context of this project, “Doi eroi” functions as a very clear starting point, as it sets the atmosphere and musical language of the material that follows.

About the song, Andrei Ursu says: “I wrote ‘Doi Eroi’ with Adi Istrate and Costi Dominteanu, who are themselves two heroes of my music. The song was written in a vineyard, at Crama de Piatra, in Mizil, where we retreated with colleagues to write beautiful music at the beginning of this spring. I believe the musical style was influenced by the place of creation, but clearly also by the artistic trajectory I have chosen and felt: Romanian music. I let myself be inspired by old drinking songs, brought into our times. It is the first song from my next body of work, scattered with waltzes, tangos and romances.”
