Airbnb, a global leader in vacation rentals, is known for offering unique lodging options and unforgettable experiences. Now, the company is set to revolutionize the travel industry yet again with the launch of its “Icons” program for Summer 2024. This initiative expands Airbnb’s portfolio to include not only traditional accommodations but also unforgettable stays in locations from films, music videos, sports, and television shows.
One of the most enchanting offerings includes a stay in the house featured in the Disney/Pixar movie “Up,” located in Abiquiu, New Mexico, complete with over 8,000 balloons. This experience allows fans to live out their cinematic dreams in a setting they once could only imagine.
Brian Chesky, co-founder and CEO of Airbnb, emphasizes the importance of this new program: “As life becomes increasingly digital, we’re focused on bringing more magic into the real world. With Icons, we’ve created the most extraordinary experiences on Earth.”
Other highlights from the Icons program include a night at the Ferrari Museum, an immersive stay in the X-Men Mansion, and a VIP evening with comedian Kevin Hart at the Coramino Live Lounge. Additionally, guests can spend a night in the famous clock room at Paris’ Musée d’Orsay, enjoy a private living room performance by Doja Cat, or stay at Prince’s iconic Purple Rain house.
For gaming enthusiasts, an overnight experience with TikTok star Khaby Lame in Milan is on offer, along with a week-long tour with singer Feid, and a personalized stay at Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor’s family home. Fans of Pixar can also book a stay at the headquarters featured in “Inside Out 2,” hosted by the character Joy.
Despite the lavishness of these experiences, Airbnb has made them accessible, pricing all Icons experiences under $100 USD per guest, with many available for free. Only 4,000 tickets are available for these exclusive stays, and interested guests can apply through the Airbnb app to receive a digital golden ticket for booking.
The Icons program by Airbnb not only provides fans with access to their dream locations but also connects them more deeply with the narratives and characters they love, transforming their travel experiences into something truly magical.
