Today, adidas launches its most versatile training shoe to date, Dropset 4. Designed to meet the demands of multidisciplinary training, the shoe delivers both controlled stability and explosiveness across a wide range of movements.
Building on the insight that 7 out of 10 people who go to the gym wear unsuitable footwear¹, Dropset 4 was created to support the next generation of athletes in cutting through the noise and discovering their strength, by offering a shoe that includes everything needed for functional training.
Dropset 4, an evolution of the Dropset 3 model, features a unique combination of technologies and design elements to deliver both full stability and dynamic energy transfer, depending on the demands of functional training. With increased versatility, Dropset 4 provides solid support across the full spectrum of functional workouts, from deadlifts to box jumps and sprints.
Key features include:
• Full-length Repetitor foam: Delivers a consistent level of stability and energy transfer, supporting overall endurance even during the most demanding workouts.
• Energyrods: Engineered to balance rigidity and flexibility, these rods protect the foot by optimally distributing force, support the heel during heavy movements and provide propulsion in the forefoot for exercises such as box jumps or jump rope.
• Continental & Adiwear rubber combination: Strategically placed to provide enhanced traction and durability during weighted training exercises such as sled pushes or weighted lunges.

adidas conducted an international study carried out by Focal Data, surveying 5,141 respondents who attended the gym at least once a month and practiced strength training (free weights, resistance training and bodyweight exercises) in the UK, USA, Germany, Mexico and China. Samples were gender balanced. Data collection took place between April 9 and April 11, 2024.
• Footadapt insole: FOOTADAPT technology increases foot awareness inside the shoe, improving balance control to maintain proper form and maximize muscle activation.
• Haptic print: The 3D-printed, textured upper layer provides enhanced abrasion resistance while maintaining breathability even during the most intense workouts.

Aimee Arana, General Manager Global Sportswear & Training, adidas, said:
“We know our community has embraced functional training as an important part of their routine and needs a shoe that supports them through every phase, from warm-up to recovery. We are proud to offer an enhanced solution that truly responds to the varied demands of training. Dropset 4 is built to be solid and stable enough for complex strength exercises, while also delivering the cushioning and energy transfer essential for explosive movements such as box jumps or even a warm-up run.”
The launch is supported by a campaign built around the idea that Dropset 4 is “All You Need” for functional training, demonstrating its capabilities in lifting, jumping and running. adidas partners, including American basketball player Hailey Van Lith, Argentine entrepreneur Antonela Roccuzzo, Brazilian fitness star Caio Cabral and German actor Emilio Sakraya, tested the footwear.
Antonela Roccuzzo on Dropset 4:
“Training is such an important part of my routine. It’s not just about fitness, it’s about feeling strong, balanced and ready for whatever the day brings. Dropset 4 has everything I need for an intense training day.”
The campaign also features competitive training athlete Laura Horvath, who wore Dropset 4 during her winning competition in October 2025 on one of the world’s most prestigious fitness stages in Aberdeen, demonstrating how the shoe supports athletes of all levels, from everyday gym-goers to elite competitors.
Laura Horvath on Dropset 4:
“Dropset 4 are my favorite strength shoes from adidas. The stability and confidence I feel wearing them across all disciplines, especially now for running, are on another level. When I compete, I want to rely on my footwear and focus solely on performance, and Dropset 4 allows me to do exactly that.”
