International brands are invited to apply for the Zalando Visionary Award SS25 at Copenhagen Fashion Week, starting from February 12th.
The Zalando Visionary Award recognizes the fashion creators of the future and encourages brands to showcase initiatives related to creativity, innovation, and positive social impact.
BUCHAREST, FEBRUARY 5, 2024 // Zalando, one of Europe’s leading online platforms for fashion and lifestyle, invites fashion designers to apply for the SS25 Zalando Visionary Award during Copenhagen Fashion Week. https://copenhagenfashionweek.com/zalando-visionary-award. The registration opens on February 12th, with the deadline for applications being the end of May. Promoting the creators of the future, the award encourages designers to express their commitment to creativity and design, innovation, and positive social impact, supporting them in making significant changes in the fashion industry.
In addition to meeting the sustainability criteria of Copenhagen Fashion Week, participants must demonstrate how they can stand out in one or more of the following pillars to be eligible:
Creativity and design: proposing a remarkable visual aesthetic that reflects the brand’s identity and individuality, translated from concept to reality through design, prints, patterns, and textiles, capturing the spirit of the moment.
Social impact: promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the company, advertising campaigns, and product range. Engaging in impactful topics, for example, contributing to social causes, supporting transparency, or certain communities.
Innovation: using and promoting innovative production techniques to create visionary collections. Innovative production techniques can include the use of new materials, creating new dyeing techniques, and incorporating cutting-edge technology into the brand’s supply chain – illustrating the future of fashion.
The winner will be chosen by an international jury consisting of industry leaders, Zalando representatives, and the Copenhagen Fashion Week jury. The winning brand will be part of the Copenhagen Fashion Week program for SS25, taking place in August 2024, and will receive a prize of 50,000 euros, as well as financial support for the presentation of their collection.
Lena Sophie Röper, Director of Designer & Luxury at Zalando, said, “Through the Zalando Visionary Award, we aim to bring to the forefront those who positively contribute to the fashion industry. I am always inspired by how innovative and progressive design creations become each year. This shows how much room there is in the industry for positive changes, and we are committed to encouraging them through this award. I am eager to see how brands will respond to their own challenges in the upcoming SS25 season.”
