Following its debut this spring, Micutzu’s new tour, “Watch out, the bears are coming!”, continues in the coming period with shows scheduled in Romania’s major cities. Audiences across the country will have the opportunity to discover the comedian’s newest material, in a series of shows that mark an important moment in his career.
The new show coincides with the anniversary of 20 years since his first stand-up performance. After two decades in which he has established himself as one of the most appreciated and influential comedians in Romania, the artist returns with a show built in the style that made him famous: social observation, personal experiences and direct humour, without detours.
“Watch out, the bears are coming!” explores, through humour and lucidity, collective anxieties, the tensions and contradictions of the present. The show talks about the fears that dominate society, about the reactions that surround us and about the way in which humour can sometimes become the best form of tension relief.
“I think this show, happening in the form of a tour, means that I’m not a coward. Every time a comedian puts together a set of jokes which in my case start from the thoughts I have during that period assembles a show and decides to present it to audiences across the country or in the diaspora, I think they demonstrate courage. Therefore, this tour means that I have the courage to stand before you and lay out what I think. Until now my courage has been rewarded and that makes me happy and I thank you. I look forward to us deciding which of my thoughts correspond with yours,” Micutzu (Cosmin Nedelcu) tells us.
On stage, alongside Micutzu, audiences will be able to see Alex Ioniță, George Dumitru and Geo Adrian, in a line-up that brings together some of the best-known names from the new generation of Romanian stand-up. Each show promises a complete evening of comedy and moments built especially for the atmosphere of a large-scale national tour.
