Following the sold-out debut of the 2026 edition, Rockstadt Extreme Fest entered its most intense days. Beyond the line-up and spectacular productions, days 2 and 3 confirmed what sets Rockstadt apart from many other European festivals: here, the boundary between stage and audience almost disappears.

Approximately 20,000 participants were present on each of the two days, and every concert transformed into a continuous dialogue between artists and fans. Thousands of people sang every lyric, jumped to the rhythm of the music, crowd-surfed and built an atmosphere that artists remarked upon immediately after coming off stage.

The audience, Rockstadt’s greatest headliner

For many of the international bands, the reaction of the Romanian audience was one of the most pleasant surprises of the festival.

In Extremo brought to the Rockstadt stage one of the most original productions of the edition, blending metal with authentic medieval instruments in a spectacular show. After the concert, band members spoke about the connection created with the Romanian audience.

“The audience was incredible. You could see that people were truly listening. They knew the lyrics and sang along with us. It was an extraordinary connection.”

Before the concert, the artists also spoke about their desire to discover Romania beyond the festival, with Bran Castle on their list of places they wished to visit.

The same enthusiasm was felt backstage with Arch Enemy. Just a few minutes before taking to the stage in front of approximately 20,000 people, band members spoke about the evolution of the festival and the joy of returning to Romania.

“We have played here before, but the festival is much bigger now. The new location is impressive and we are very excited. It is also our first concert in Romania with our new vocalist.”

A few minutes later, the emotion from backstage transformed into one of the most appreciated concerts of the edition, in which the music, staging and visual production built a complete spectacle.

Rock and metal legends raised the standard of the 2026 edition

Two of the most powerful days of the festival brought to the Rockstadt stages some of the most important names in world rock and metal.

Godsmack demonstrated once again why it remains one of the most beloved bands of the genre, delivering a concert built around the tracks that have, over time, become true anthems for entire generations of fans.

Lamb of God closed one of the evenings with a concert of impressive intensity. The powerful riffs, the energy transmitted by the band and the special effects literally raised the temperature of the festival, and the audience’s reaction said it all.

“The atmosphere is incredible. The bands are extraordinary, and the people are so open. That is precisely why we come back here,” said one of the participants attending Rockstadt for the second consecutive year.

One of the most emotional moments of these two days belonged to In Flames, who invited a child from the audience onto the stage. The gesture perfectly captured the spirit of Rockstadt: a festival where the passion for music passes naturally between generations and where the youngest fans find their place in the middle of a community united by the same passion.

More than concerts: complete artistic experiences

Rockstadt means not just music, but artistic productions crafted down to the finest detail.

Igorrr and Arch Enemy demonstrated that a concert can become a true artistic act. The elaborate costumes, spectacular staging, special effects and pyrotechnic productions transformed every appearance into a memorable visual experience.

Perturbator demonstrated that the boundary between electronic music and metal is becoming ever thinner. The sonic universe created by James Kent blended analogue synthesisers, electronic rhythms and the power of live rock into a hypnotic spectacle. The French artist is also recognised for his collaborations with Jean-Michel Jarre, an influence that is reflected in the refinement and complexity of his sonic construction.

With an unmistakable sonic universe, In Extremo brought tradition and metal together on the same stage. Medieval instruments blended naturally with the energy of rock, and the audience’s reaction transformed the concert into one of the most original moments of the 2026 edition.

Slaughter to Prevail signed one of the most spectacular shows of the festival. Flames, controlled explosions and fire special effects transformed the stage into an impressive demonstration of visual power, perfectly synchronised with the intensity of the music.

A new generation discovers Rockstadt

Among the surprises of this edition was the success of the Gutalax concert, which attracted a large audience from Generation Z. Costumes inspired by the band’s eccentric universe, humour and freedom of expression demonstrated that Rockstadt continues to attract new generations of fans, without losing the identity built over more than a decade.

The festival continues

Rockstadt Extreme Fest continues at Ghimbav with other legendary names from the international scene. In the coming days, Helloween, Airbourne, The Prodigy, Serrabulho and Alexandra Căpitănescu will take to the stage, in a programme that promises a memorable finale for the 2026 edition.

The gaze is already turned towards the future as well. Rockstadt Extreme Fest 2027 will take place from 26 to 30 July 2027, at Ghimbav. Season passes are already available, and the organisers are preparing one of the largest investments in the festival’s history into a line-up that promises to consolidate Rockstadt’s position among the most important rock and metal festivals in Europe.
