Kai-Uwe Trillenberg, currently Vice President Marketing & Sales for Mercedes-Benz Thailand, will officially take on the role of CEO of Mercedes-Benz Romania starting December 1, 2025, replacing Natalie Thompson, who has had a significant impact on the company’s growth and success during her tenure, leaving the company in a solid position. Kai-Uwe will be present in Romania starting November 2025 to ensure a smooth transition together with Natalie, who has decided to take the next step in her professional career outside the company.

Kai-Uwe Trillenberg began his professional career at smart GmbH in 2003, gaining experience in several European markets, such as Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Austria. He then transitioned to Mercedes-Benz, where he had responsibilities in Market Management for the United Kingdom and Ireland. In 2007, he advanced to the position of Director of Marketing & Sales at smart-BRABUS GmbH, where he developed and launched the highly successful smart-BRABUS tailor-made individualization program. Later, in 2014, Kai-Uwe moved to China, in Product Management for Compact Cars, overseeing the successful introduction of the locally manufactured compact passenger car line. Since 2015, as a member of the Network Development team, he has played a crucial role in key strategic initiatives and cultivated strong ties with dealers and investors in China, consolidating his know-how in retail sales.
In his most recent role, as Vice President of Marketing and Sales in Thailand, Kai-Uwe successfully navigated a complex market environment, leading the “Retail of the Future” initiative, which created a more efficient sales process with increased focus on customer needs. His leadership in Thailand was marked by a data-driven approach, with an emphasis on integrating new perspectives to constantly improve performance. With a mindset of perseverance and determination, Kai-Uwe created a culture of experimentation and continuous learning, actively exploring innovative strategies to achieve ambitious objectives.
