To remain competitive in a constantly changing world, a brand must stay true to its heritage while finding new ways to innovate. Levi’s has continuously reimagined its most beloved garments, honoring its legacy, while McLaren Racing has consistently refined its race cars without ever straying from its history. Following their first collaboration, launched in July near the British Grand Prix, the new Levi’s x McLaren Racing collection draws inspiration from the modern era aesthetics and speed of McLaren Racing.
The second Levi’s x McLaren Racing collection includes a Track Trucker jacket, Sports 501 jeans, Speed Trucker, Speed Jeans, Second Skin, a nylon hoodie, a Constructors t-shirt, a long-sleeved graphic t-shirt, and a Speed Bandana. Reinterpreting a denim bomber jacket, the Track Trucker features contrasting chest and back pockets, with a contrast collar and hem. The iconic “McLaren Racing” embroidery can be found on the left front. To mirror the Trucker jacket, the Sports 501 jeans have contrasting turned-up denim on the waistband. Modeled after the contemporary classic 501 ‘93 Straight Fit, these jeans include embroidery on the left leg. Both the Trucker jacket and Sports 501 jeans come with a custom black rubberized Two Horse patch, emulating a chassis plate.
Paying homage to traditional racing jackets, the black Speed Trucker jacket features a two-snap closure at the neck, a snap at the belt, and reinforced edges, emphasizing the race driver style. The women’s sports jacket has the McLaren Racing logo on the left chest and a two-way zipper down the front. The matching Speed jeans, relaxed Baggy Dad fit, come equipped with side pockets and reinforced edges. These also feature a rubberized logo patch above the back pockets and embroidery on the left leg.
The Second Skin, inspired by McLaren Racing’s modular prints, has an orange mock neck, long sleeves, and a shiny, plastified look. The oversized Constructors t-shirt showcases laurels celebrating McLaren Racing’s victories over the years, along with the signatures of Bruce McLaren and Levi Strauss, plus a dual label. The nylon hoodie comes in gray, with a black nylon pocket and raglan sleeves, using the same glossy silicone print technique as Second Skin for a shiny finish. It includes a hook loop and custom graphics on the back.
The long-sleeved graphic t-shirt, made with glossy silicone printing, has a relaxed fit, a photo print of a McLaren F1 car, a back neck label, and an L-shaped side seam. The collection also includes a Speed Bandana, an oversized satin bandana featuring the same McLaren F1 image, along with a dual label in one corner.
The new Levi’s x McLaren Racing Collection launched globally on October 17 and is available on Levi.com and in select Levi’s stores.
