Over 300,000 Romanians are invited to become volunteers and participate in the National Clean-Up Day on 19 September. Let’s Do It, Romania!, the largest social movement in the country, launches registrations for those wishing to get involved in cleaning the land and protecting the environment. Over 2.9 million volunteers from across the country have been involved, over the last 15 years, in clean-up actions alongside the Let’s Do It, Romania team, which is part of the global organisation Let’s Do It World. On 19 September, millions of people from around the world will simultaneously clean up in 190 countries.

The National Clean-Up Day, officially recognised through Law 266/2024, reaches its 13th edition this year. Through this campaign, the organisers aim not only to collect tonnes of waste from nature, but also to raise people’s awareness regarding the environment and what they leave behind. This year’s theme for the National Clean-Up Day is “What do you leave behind?” and encourages reflection and awareness of every daily gesture.

In 2025, over 270,000 people from across the country collected, in Bucharest and all 41 counties, over 427,000 bags of waste. Volunteers wishing to participate in the National Clean-Up Day on 19 September 2026 can register at https://app.letsdoitromania.ro/login.
