Honor, in collaboration with Studio Harcourt, the legendary Parisian photography studio founded in 1933, has recently launched the 200 series, consisting of two photography-oriented smartphones. Announced as “the fastest-growing smartphone brand in Europe,” Honor has introduced two new devices – the 200 and 200 Pro – a confident move in the crowded smartphone market, reflecting the company’s ambitions.

Photography at the Heart of the Honor 200 Series
Photography is essential for the Honor 200 series, with both models, the 200 and 200 Pro, equipped with four cameras: a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel telephoto camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 50-megapixel front camera. The telephoto, ultra-wide, and front cameras are identical for both devices. Although the IMX856 sensor used is relatively old (released in 2018), it was once a top sensor from Sony and still maintains a high level due to its impressive features, such as all-pixel autofocus, double-exposure HDR, and the ability to capture 4K video at 30 frames per second. The differences between the two phones are observed in their main cameras; although both have the same 50-megapixel resolution, the main camera of the 200 uses the more recent Sony IMX906 sensor, while the main camera of the 200 Pro uses the same H9000 sensor found in the company’s flagship Magic6 Pro smartphone.
Collaboration with Studio Harcourt
Additionally, Honor collaborated with Studio Harcourt to co-develop an AI algorithm aimed at improving portraits taken by users. The studio, founded by French photographer Cosette Harcourt in 1933, shared its vast knowledge of light and image creation, with the teams working together to analyze “thousands of images” and “over 1,000 lighting scenarios and millions of data sets” in search of “the perfect balance between light and shadow.”
Technical Features and Availability
Both phones are powered by Snapdragon processors, but the Pro 200 features one of the chip manufacturer’s latest chipsets – the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. It includes an eight-core processor that, along with the onboard 12 GB of RAM, should facilitate the use of demanding apps and games. It also includes the highly capable Adreno 735 GPU, which helps to render graphics smoothly and seamlessly.
Both models feature an AMOLED display, with the 200 Pro model having a 6.78-inch quad-curved screen and a 120Hz refresh rate. The devices are equipped with the proprietary “Eye Comfort Display” technology to reduce eye fatigue in users, by adapting the screen brightness and warmth to a user’s environment. Both devices have also received Tüv Rheinland’s ‘Flicker Free Certification’.
The 200 and 200 Pro series are now available in the UK through the brand’s website and will soon be launched in Europe. The 200 model is available in ‘Moonlight White’, ‘Emerald Green’, and ‘Black’,
