H&M Studio’s Pre-Spring capsule collection brings a fresh perspective to transitional wardrobe

As the days grow longer and lighter, the sharp tailoring and voluminous shapes of H&M Studio’s Pre-Spring capsule collection provide a perfect foundation for the transitional wardrobe. Key elements include sharply defined shoulders, fluid fabrics, and sleek lines. The collection will be available online at hm.com starting January 30.

The color palette is primarily composed of black and navy, with a floral print in yellow and violet, reminiscent of the first spring flower breaking through the snow. Featuring outerwear, dresses, tops, and trousers, the collection was inspired by the chrysalis stage of a butterfly preparing to make its entrance.

Key pieces are bold yet wearable. A collarless long blazer-style coat offers a sculptural look. A leather version of the trench coat stops at the hips and creates an oversized silhouette. A more relaxed option is the voluminous trench coat with a high collar made from a wind-resistant material. The first flowers appear on a long, fluid dress with wavy sleeves, a scalloped hem, and a plunging neckline. Waxed denim, printed leggings, and a leather mini skirt provide layering possibilities for any styling.

“Between winter and spring, we long to feel the sun on our skin, yet we still need transitional clothing. Thinking about that period before we can fully bloom, we’ve come up with this play of tailoring and floating fabrics. By combining the toughness of materials like leather and denim, the collection feels strong and confident—ready for anything,” says Linda Wikell, H&M Studio designer.
