Hisense, one of the global leaders in the electronics and home appliances industry, has received the prestigious Red Dot Design Award 2026 for the Hisense PureView Cross Door refrigerator, a model that combines premium design, smart technology and practical solutions for everyday life.
The Red Dot Design Award represents one of the most important international benchmarks in the field of design. Every year, the jury analyses over 10,000 products from over 60 countries and awards creations that stand out through design, functionality, quality of execution and the experience offered to the user. The distinction thus confirms Hisense’s commitment to transforming classic home appliances into smart, elegant and intuitive solutions, adapted to modern homes.
The defining element of the PureView Cross Door model is the transparent glass door, resistant to fogging, which allows quick checking of food and beverages inside without opening the refrigerator.
The PureView system can be activated in three ways:
- through the motion sensor, when the user approaches within less than one metre;
- through a simple touch of the door;
- through voice command.
In this way, users can immediately check which ingredients they still need, even when their hands are occupied. At the same time, reducing the number of openings limits the loss of cold air and helps maintain a stable temperature inside.
So that the glass can maintain its clarity even under different temperature and humidity conditions, the Hisense research and development team created an advanced insulating structure and heating elements integrated into the door frame, which prevent the formation of condensation.
PureView Cross Door features a 6.86-inch TFT smart screen, discreetly integrated into the door, which functions as a control centre for the refrigerator and for the smart device ecosystem in the home.
Users can manage their food inventory, receive notifications about products approaching their expiry date, discover recipes and access over 20 drink suggestions through the Beverage Master function.
Voice control allows access to the main functions without touching the screen, and the ConnectLife app offers the possibility of adjusting the refrigerator temperature directly from the phone, including when the user is not at home.
Flexibility for the needs of the whole family
The Cross Door architecture offers generous storage volume and easy food organisation. Adjustable and foldable shelves allow the storage of tall containers, large platters or bulky bottles. The convertible My Fresh Choice zone can operate at temperatures between -18°C and 5°C, so that the same compartment can become a freezer or a refrigerator, depending on needs. PureView Cross Door has a capacity of 615 litres, a dedicated compartment for fruit and vegetables and multiple organisation options, so that food can be stored easily and efficiently.
Purified water and ice prepared faster
The refrigerator integrates Advanced UV Water Treatment technology, which filters and sterilises water using UV light and eliminates up to 99.9% of bacteria. The Express Ice function produces ice up to 50% faster than conventional systems and offers multiple options, from classic cubes to crushed ice or crescent-shaped ice. The tall water and ice dispenser allows the use of glasses, bottles and containers of different sizes, and the Anti-Bacterial Guard system contributes to maintaining a clean and protected interior.
Minimalist design for contemporary kitchens
Beyond the technology, PureView Cross Door stands out through a design created for natural integration into modern kitchens. Flat doors, hidden handles and metallic finishes achieved through a five-sided bending process give the refrigerator an architectural, elegant and uniform appearance. The reduced use of plastic components also supports a more responsible approach to design.
