The first day of the 2026 edition brought spectacular productions, over 21,000 participants, and an atmosphere that confirmed the beginning of a new stage in Rockstadt’s evolution. The first day was about the reunion of a community that, for more than a decade, has turned Rockstadt Extreme Fest into one of the most respected metal festivals in Europe.
From the early hours of the day, thousands of fans from Romania and around the world arrived at the festival, turning Ghimbav into a meeting point for the international rock and metal community. From Brazil to Germany, to France, Austria, Poland, Spain, Sweden, or Hungary.

The first day of the festival was sold out even before the gates opened. Over 21,000 participants were present at the start of a week dedicated to rock and metal, while the festival’s campsite is fully booked for all five days, a new sign of the record interest in the 2026 edition and of the success of the move to Ghimbav.
From early on, the festival’s three stages came to life, and the line-up brought together some of the most celebrated names on the international scene. For over 12 hours, thousands of people moved from one stage to another, in a musical marathon that set the tone for the five days of the festival.
Black Label Society delivered one of the first memorable moments of the evening. The band led by Zakk Wylde once again demonstrated the special relationship it has with the Romanian audience, being welcomed with enthusiasm by the thousands of fans present in front of the stage. The energy of the concert and the connection between the band and the audience confirmed why Black Label Society is always happy to return in front of Romanian fans.

One of the most anticipated concerts of the evening was the one performed by Sabaton. With an impressive production, spectacular pyrotechnic effects, and overflowing energy, the Swedish band turned the main stage into a true visual show. From teenagers at their first Sabaton concert to fans who have been following the band for decades, the audience sang almost every song alongside the artists, in a moment that perfectly illustrated the spirit of the Rockstadt community.
The end of the first day belonged to Marilyn Manson, who proved that he remains one of the most powerful and recognizable presences on the international rock scene. With the same unmistakable voice, a magnetic stage presence, and remarkable energy, the artist built a lasting connection with the audience, turning the concert into a dialogue with the tens of thousands of people in front of the stage. Between songs, Manson also delivered one of the defining messages of the evening: “We are one, but we are irreplaceable” a call to authenticity and to recognizing the value of each individual.

Beyond the concerts, the first day was about the complete festival experience. Participants explored the campsite, the food & drinks area, the merchandise stands, and the relaxation spaces set up in the new location. The expanded infrastructure, the generous relaxation spaces, and the organization contributed to a smooth experience from the very first day, confirming the advantages of the move to Ghimbav.
Rockstadt remains one of the few festivals in Europe where community matters just as much as the line-up. Dozens of different languages are heard at the festival, and participants coming from numerous countries return year after year to reunite in the same place, united by the same passion for music.

Beyond the concerts, the first day of the festival was also a demonstration of rock and metal culture. Black dominated the participants’ outfits, and t-shirts featuring favorite bands mixed with Rockstadt t-shirts from all 12 editions of the festival, worn with pride by fans who return year after year. Elaborate makeup, gothic accessories, and numerous looks inspired by Marilyn Manson’s image completed the atmosphere, turning the audience into part of the show.
Also on the first day, the new official Rockstadt Extreme Fest 2026 merchandise collection was launched, and one of the most appreciated products was the t-shirt made from a concept proposed by a festival fan himself. For the Rockstadt community, merchandise means more than a souvenir: each t-shirt tells the story of an edition, and for many loyal participants, the complete collection has already become a tradition.
