NIBIRU opens today. Romania inaugurates the first entertainment resort on the seaside and the largest destination dedicated to entertainment in Europe

NIBIRU officially opens its doors today, July 16, and kicks off the summer on the Romanian seaside. After a period of two years of preparations, Romania’s newest resort and Europe’s largest entertainment destination launches its first season with 46 days of experiences and festivals, over 30 shops and restaurants. The season line-up includes over 200 artists and 150 events dedicated to all generations, in a program that provides the answer to one of the most frequently asked questions of seaside tourists: What do we do in the evening at the seaside?

At the press conference dedicated to the inauguration of the resort, Andrei Șelaru (Selly), CEO and co-founder of NIBIRU, declared: “Today we inaugurate a project that, five years ago, was an ambitious idea, and in the last two years has become a vision we have actively worked towards: that the Romanian seaside deserves a new generation of experiences. From now on, after a day at the beach, you have a place where you can continue your day and where you always find something to do. NIBIRU is a place built for all generations, where you can come for a festival, for a concert, for a family evening, or simply to take a walk on the promenade. We want people to discover that Romania can deliver entertainment experiences at international standards and to transform Costinești into a destination that tourists want to visit every summer.”

From 6:00 PM, the grand opening of NIBIRU takes place with a specially planned evening to show the public what they will be able to experience throughout the entire season. All those who have tickets to NIBIRU festivals have free access to the opening, with no minimum spend required, and the same benefit applies to those who attended Beach, Please!, as a natural continuation of the festival experience.

On the Center Stage, the first artistic concept by Răzvan Dincă, Circus of Wonders, will take place, which will also be featured in the concerts of Delia, Puya, and Mario, as well as in the shows on the Promenade. Also on the first evening at NIBIRU, the audience will be able to watch special moments alongside Selly, Dan Negru, and Dumitru Prunariu, an aviation show by the Romanian Aero Club, hot air balloon shows, acrobatics, street artists, projections, a fireworks show, and themed parties for each festival in the NIBIRU summer program.

Immediately after the grand opening, NIBIRU kicks off the first festival of the season, GALAXIA, which will take place between July 16–19. The line-up brings together international and local artists, including Ozuna, INNA, HUGEL, Nicky Jam, Clean Bandit, DJ Snake, and Farruko, Lazy Ed, Killa Fonic, shaping one of the most spectacular events of the summer.

The NIBIRU opening is expected to attract approximately 50,000 visitors from the very first day, marking one of the most extensive debuts of an entertainment project in Romania. For the rest of the season, the organizers estimate an average footfall of approximately 40,000 visitors per day.

To facilitate access to all the experiences in the resort, visitors have at their disposal the NIBIRU mobile app, which brings together the complete schedule of festivals and shows, the interactive map of the resort, information about restaurants, activations, and points of interest, as well as real-time notifications about events and activities each day. Launched before the official opening, the app became the most downloaded app in Romania on the day it became available in the app stores, recording approximately 9,000 downloads. Designed as the main digital guide to the NIBIRU experience, the app allows visitors to more easily plan each evening and discover all the experiences available throughout the season.

NIBIRU brings together in one place the central promenade, food & retail areas, performance spaces, family zones, an amusement park, activations, and experiences dedicated to young audiences, as well as adults and families with children. In the first season, the program runs daily between 6:00 PM and 3:00 AM, and access to the main promenade is free, with a minimum spend of 25 lei required, an option available exclusively online, with advance payment.

The summer 2026 calendar is built around several festivals and distinct formats, which transform NIBIRU into an energy-filled resort throughout the entire duration of the season. Among the announced events are GALAXIA (July 16–19), NEBULA X (July 24–26), K-POP DAYS (August 1–2), FAMILY FEST (August 3–4), ROCK DAYS (August 7–8), STARDUST (August 15), PORC FEST (August 22–23), and RETROGRADE (August 28–30). At the same time, the Central Promenade and NIBIRU Center Stage come to life every evening through shows, artists, activations, and live experiences, developed under the artistic direction of Răzvan Dincă. Each day of the week has a distinct artistic concept, which defines the atmosphere of the evening and integrates all the program moments and audience experiences into a unified universe.

Thus, the NIBIRU universe comes to life through a succession of creative concepts: on Thursday the stage opens with Circus of Wonders, an immersive show full of magic and surprises; Friday brings the vibrant energy of Neon Asia, where lights and urban culture meet; Saturday brings the decadent elegance of Velvet Cabaret; Sunday sees the audience carried away by the colorful rhythms of Barrio Carnaval; Monday celebrates nostalgia and freedom in Summer Disco Love; Tuesday brings the authentic vibe of American Soul System; and Wednesday presents the Worlds of NIBIRU concept, which brings all the universes together in a memorable show.

In addition to festivals, NIBIRU also integrates permanent entertainment areas: The Fool Comedy Club, NIBIRU Beer Garden, Hype Arena, the Amusement Park, the Museum of Planets, TaranTerra, and sports spaces. The resort is built to bring different audiences together in the same place, according to preferences, age, and budget.

NIBIRU aims to combine international artists, relevant Romanian names, and varied musical formats, from pop and electronic to hip-hop, afro, house, or alternative influences, with artists such as Ozuna, Nicky Jam, DJ Snake, Clean Bandit, INNA, Alina Eremia, Smiley, Delia, Carla’s Dreams, Antonia, The Motans, Irina Rimes, Theo Rose, and Alex Velea, alongside other names that complete each thematic day of the season.

To avoid time spent in traffic, the organizers recommend using public transport. During the summer, NIBIRU buses will operate along the entire coastline and will pick up passengers from all resorts, subject to available spaces, and will be easily recognizable by the NIBIRU branding.

NIBIRU will have a significant economic impact in the Costinești area. The project is expected to generate over 400 million euros in the local economy, supporting commercial activities, local suppliers, and seasonal jobs. At the same time, the project’s positioning aims to extend the consumption period on the seaside and to transform the southern coastline into a relevant destination for Romanian and international tourists.
