At Paris Fashion Week, Jean Paul Gaultier did what he does best he surprised everyone.
This time, not with a corset or a scandal, but with a choice: inviting Dutch designer Duran Lantink to reinterpret the spirit of his legendary house.
Known for his bold and conceptual approach, Lantink turned his SS25 collection into a visual manifesto about body, identity, and freedom. On the runway, silhouettes were distorted, corsets exploded in volume, and accessories were reimagined beyond reason. One model even wore a dress with a built-in screen broadcasting the audience — fashion literally reflecting itself.
Critics called the show “a dose of poison against nostalgia.” And they were right Lantink didn’t imitate Gaultier; he reactivated him. Under his vision, the house becomes sharper, more ironic, and perfectly in tune with a generation that no longer seeks perfection but authenticity.
